our village share bounderies with imphal east, old senapati district, iam a tangkhul and we were introduced to this song by our neighbouring kuki village, such good old days although fear is inevitable in those days due to insurgency. Love you all my dear, And my dearest friend LIM SAUNTAK, LETGOUTHANG HAOKIP if you happen to come across this comment just figure me out.
This song takes me back to 2011 when I was in Delhi. We used to listen to this song almost everyday. I love this song. It's too good. Thank you.❤from Rongmei Naga.
Though I belongs to tangkhil community, these kuki songs (oh boinu& first letter) r one of my favrite.. It reminds me of my childhood kuki friends during scul days.. Don't knw da meaning but I used to listened a lot.. Tq brother big fan 🔥🥰🥰🥰💫
I know I'm super super late to comment but for all those non-kuki listeners who wanna know what the song's all about, well ...the singer is speaking to the letter as if he is a speaking to a living object and tells it to deliver his love message to the love of his life and likewise bring back hers to him. "Napu" and "napi" here literally means your grandpa and grandma which kinda sounds funny but the terminology is ambiguous, meaning it can also be interpreted other ways; like "dad" or "mom". Remember that this was sung like 15 years ago when sending love letters were a huge thing back then. The lyrics cannot be properly translated into English to give that deep and meaningful lyrics it has like in the original dialect. Some lines just sounds funny when literally translated into English but the actual lyric is not.

In fact, I learnt how to sing though I couldn't pronounced its words clearly but I was able to sing o o ka first letter and that's all hehe.
