I gotta say thank you rk9 rides for recommending this scooter to me. Just got one and I loved it! I can't stop riding it. I had one stem issue with a sound but I fixed it with 2 pieces of blue tape on part of the stem that connects with the locking mechanism. I love the acceleration, range and ride comfort over my previous segway ninebot max scooter.

Kaabo is by far my favorite electric scooter company. Their price per features ratio is top end. The new Kaabo Wolf King GT with Sinewave controllers and all of the other upgrades is going to really impress. Cheers.

Kaabo and the company that made the Zero and Vsett lines produce the best bang for your buck scooters. I hope with the amount of success from their sales they can keep pushing the technology and maintain the affordable prices!

How heavy are you? I live in Portland Oregon which isn't crazy hilly, but I burned out the electrical controller twice on my emove cruiser at 230 fully geared. So I'm a bit nervous on this one.

@@Piemasta9000 I believe the Mantis 10 would be ok for you but I'd stick with 1500 watt or higher motors to tackle anything easily!

Love my Kaabo 10. I just wish I got the pro one with hydraulic brakes. It's good when you go max speed. I can't fit it into my trunk though. Just. We don't have that many Kaabo's in Melbourne. Most scooters here are Segways. My fav is Dualtron Thunder but it would be too heavy for me.

So I pre ordered mine last month, I sent a email to kaabo just checking with a on time pre order delivery date of Sept 20th and I didn't get a direct answer but I did get a response saying they are upgrading the waterproofing, light and horn so sounds interesting not sure if you heard of this yet but found it interesting for a scooter already rated high. I can't wait to get my new scooter I really need it since my hiboy model I got battery has gotten really weak now

Well, after about 1 month of owning this scooter, I am really loving it, with a few notes. I weigh 145 lbs and I'm able to get the scooter to go up to 43-45mph, which is well beyond the advertised max speed. I love how sturdy the build is. Nothing has broken so far. If you adjust the two clamps at the stem to the proper tightness to hold the stem in place when upright, they become really difficult to open and close when you're ready to fold the scooter. I may swap the nuts out for wing nuts or something, because otherwise I can't loosen them without a tool. So if you need to fold/unfold the scooter often, this will be something to consider. The front brake lever has a lot of play, even after adjusting it. The MAIN ISSUE I would say is the ride stiffness of this scooter. I live in Louisiana, and our roads are a series of conretes and asphalts patched together that rarely allow for a smooth ride. This scooter DOES NOT BODE WELL with rough roads, because the ride is very stiff. There may be a way to adjust the suspension, but I haven't looked into it yet.

I weight about 260 and can get this bad boy up to 24mph if fully charged. I could see someone who weights 150lbs getting this thing to 30mph.

I got the Mantis 8 and there was a little bag with 4 rubber caps which I believe are covers for the axles, but they were also two little metal dime size pieces with tabs on them. What are they for?

How do you compare change in wheel size from 10 to 8? This is something I strongly wonder about... I currently have Motus Pro 8.5 Lite(Polish design), I want to move to something stronger and faster but wonder about the wheel size a lot..:/

I bought the Mantis 8 after watching your first review where you compared it with the 10. I rode 250km on it already in just a week. Its incredible fun!!! In Europe, it came with 2x800W motors, the Throttle Controller looks different and it came with keys by default! Everything else is exactly as you describe and show it :) Great machine :)

@@blanket9890 actually in Europe its called the mantis 8 plus and pro and they are very similair only battery is bigger on the pro + better controller. Basically the Pro is the same everywhere but the 8 is called 8 plus exact same power and everything expect battery size 18.2 a instead of 23a (pro)

@@pandometer4748 We picked up two Kaabo Mantis 8's a few weeks ago using their TWO250 coupon code. Since then, I've logged almost 80 miles and she has close to 70 miles. We both love them for noodling around. I actually use mine for commuting as it's a great light-weight scooter with decent power. No issues hitting and maintaining ~27-28 MPH on this thing (GPS tracked).

Would you say this is a good long range city commuter where i can fit in with cars in downtown 25mph traffic with little worry? I have been looking at the Varla Eagle One, but I am slightly hesitant because of the weight, I would have to carry it to my third floor apartment daily! I am quite light of a guy (5'11" @ 135lbs) but I feel like this scooter might be a bit slow and not have quite enough range at the highest speed setting (i was hoping for 20 miles, and around real world 35mph). I have watched a few videos tonight, and think your insight would go a long way in me deciding on a scooter! Much appreciated~

it is a very stiff ride. the roads in Louisiana are horrible, so it is brutal to ride over some bumpy areas. sometimes i get off and walk the scooter over the rough parts. if you just have small cracks and small potholes, it probably wouldn’t be bad

what about riding in rainy conditions? it is hard to make it waterproof?

I would avoid water as much as possible. Any water getting into the battery compartment equals a dead scooter. I'm not sure there is much you can do to make it more waterproof. If you need a scooter for wet riding conditions then I would look at the emove cruiser or other scooter that advertise their waterproofness

I'm wondering the same thing. The new mantis has fixed the stem, put better screws in the motors and tweaked other things I believe. I prefer 10" tires and dual 1000w motors instead of the 8. And also I don't like the idea of tubeless tires it's such a pain the the ass. Split rim with tubes is the way to go if you ride trails often like I do

Do you think that this will make Kaabo compete with Ninebot Max? I see so many of them here in NYC and I always think to myself...there are better scooters than that! It's got to be the portability to speed that makes it attractive but still.....there are better scooters that are faster and close to it in weight like this Kaabo Mantis 8!

Yeah around this price range I feel like the Mantis 8 (and hopefully the Varla Pegasus) is a much better choice. More features and better performance. I might have to get a ninebot max and see what the hype is all about.

@@nasmanxtra I know that Sunnytimes Shenzen (they're costlier) and Yeslaud (more affordable) offer the model. You have to communicate with them, they're on Alibaba. They've always assured me that the prices they quoted included duties. And it would have been a few hundreds of dollars cheaper than buying local but you have to accept shipping that takes 40-50 days.

how come the scooters don't have rear view mirrors? That's super important to drive in the city. Motorbikes, bicycles, everybody use them except for the scooters. Not very safe at all.

I had a problem with mine, which kept showing E10 error, and this would cause the scooter to shut down sometimes. I even had the scooter die on me while crossing a busy street. Other times, the E10 would just keep flashing on the display, but the scooter would run fine. I contacted Kaaabo usa, and they just basically told me to take it somewhere to get it repaired at my expense, of course. My scooter was barely a few months old when I contacted them about the issue. Their warranty is non-existent. Luckily the problem kind of just went away on it's own, but am worried of it popping up again in the future.

I ride solo all the time, usually at night. I enjoy the stealthiness of being alone and riding at night. A lot of people I catch by surprise when I fly by them.
