KAANI Palm Beach Hotel | Maafushi, Maldives 

The Kaani Palm beach sits right on the corner of the island. It is sorta two towers, because at some point in the past, they added an extension on the back of the original tower. When you look at photos online, you can distinctly see the boxy style balconies on the north & west side, and beside the ones on the north, are the ones that we stayed in, th newer “crooked” or wavy style balconies. There are also two different elevators to access each side, we had to come down our elevator that comes out in the dining room, and take the elevator up beside the front desk to get to the pool. I’m not sure where your room is, but we had friends staying in the other part from us, and I can tell you all the rooms are very nice, comfortable and all have a gorgeous view of the ocean.

I can tell you what I think is going on. Your transfer should be set up by your hotel. I believe what is happening is the hotels will give you a reservation for your room, and book a transfer for you, which you will pay to the hotel when you get there. As for the actual transfer, it’s a speedboat which literally leaves right from the airport. You will get off your flight, get your luggage and meet someone (your hotel transfer agent) who will guide you from there. Which hotel are you staying at? I would reccomend contacting them and asking about setting up the transfer with them. As for price, it’s about a 1/2 hr boat ride and you shouldn’t pay more than $25 (American) per person each way. Yes and no… on the local islands, alcohol is banned. But on the private resorts, they do serve alcohol.
