John Mayer mentioned Kacey and her new album. Id never heard of her, thought I'd give it a listen. I usually listen to different styles of music, reggae, jazz, electronic, and I've been wondering why I love this album, a bit out of character. Yes her voice is truly incredible, but I realised its not her voice that caught me, its the (raw) soul that went into making this album. She must have been in a blissful state while writing these songs, in love, and she was able to so beautifully translate, or manifest, that feeling into music. I guess by listening one gets a taste of that state (butterflies) she was in. A true artist, in every respect. Hats off.

Her voice is like nothing else. I'm usually a punk/rock fan but listening to this album made me feel so relaxed. The lyrics are powerful and despite being simple it is so unique

you don't see other country artists receiving this much love all over the world. Kacey is an international star, not just some Nashville country radio darling who nobody knows outside the US.

Her voice is as pure as a crystal bell. One of the few singers in any genre who uses no vibrato, and doesn't need to. Holy cow - her singing is stunningly gorgeous.

other than Joni Mitchell, she is by far my favorite female vocalist. To be almost perfect live, takes an insane amount of talent, and discipline. Her sound engineer for this concert was a fucking legend as well, that reverb is to die for.
