Her voice sounds so intoxicating & effortless. This song makes me think of my husband. In our mid 30’s now but we got together at age 18 & 19. 15 plus years later and the “party” to me is still just wherever the two of us are together. Kacey’s music is so unique for country music because it’s not just one thing. The same album can make you think, make you laugh or can tug on your heart strings & make you cry. That’s talent! 👏🏻💚
a true example of brilliant musicians. its that simple. Its so satisfying watching a group of musicians who know their stuff so well that it seems like second nature to them. Why artist this good don't just record an album where the track was recorded live,....in one take, I don't know

I can't get enough of this song. Vocals are angelic. A cross between classic country and pop vocals. Anyone who understands ❤️ knows that "the party" isn't what it's about. You go, mingle, but in the end, would rather be home 🏡 with the one you love ❤️.
My favorite Kacey song from my favorite album. I think the meaning of it is lost on some people. It’s a simple love song. She’s talking about how her & her other half are getting ready for a party & running late. But she doesn’t care at all because he’s the one she wants to be with. The “party” is just wherever the two of them are together because they’re so in love. Kacey’s voice sounds so effortless, beautiful & smooth & she transcends the country music genre. She’s original but still country. She’s a country artist who draws in country fans & people who normally aren’t into country.

And maker her write hits for Lambert, and that Nashville show. I only fount that Golden hour CD, a few weeks before Grammy's. Someone has been sand bagging her career. What a beautiful performance. They all looked so great. Sounded even better. Saw them in Berkeley a couple years ago with Willie Nelson. Great to see her getting recognition for her solid music. Real. And good.

Sorry to burst your bubble but she wrote and performed this before she was with Ruston. I forget his name, but she was with the guy stood to the right of her with the black cowboy hat on at this point, hence why he's now no longer in the band.
