Kada Parshad Recipe | Aate Ka Halwa | कड़ा परशाद | आटे का हलवा | Chef Sanjyot Keer

Full written recipe for Kada Parshad
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 15 -20 minutes.
Serves: 6-7 people.
Ingredients:
GHEE | घी 1 KATORI
KARKARA AATA | करकरा आटा 1 CUP
SUGAR | शक्कर 1 CUP
WATER | पानी 2 CUP
Method:
Set a deep pan over high flame & once it gets hot, add in the ghee.
When the ghee gets hot add the flour while continuously stirring to prevent the formation of lumps.
Cook the flour over low flame until it turns dark biscuity in colour, make sure you keep stirring it continuously.
Once the flour & ghee turn dark biscuity in colour add the sugar & water, then increase the flame to medium low & cook the halwa until all the ghee separates.
Switch off the flame once the ghee separates, you kada / aate ka halwa is ready.

I lost my sikh mother 5 years back. She used to prepare this Kadaa Prasad on every Sagraand. After her death I have not tasted this. Today ur video brings tears to my eyes and taken back to memories... thanks

I'm south Indian and our temples serve different prasaad that are special in their own way. But I have memories of having Kada prasaad during my travels to North India. I very well remember being absolutely mesmerized by the taste of it, I was left wanting more! There is something really pure and divine about this dish that's hard to describe! I will definitely be making this for my family this weekend ☺️

@@YourFoodLab Never call homemade aata halwa as kada parshad. Kada Parshad is the one before the guru, it has divinity mixed into it. Same with Gurdwara Langar, during ardas both are offered to the Guru (Bhog Lagaya jata hai) and then it is served.

Wow! In Karnataka we make a similar dish called Raamana Prasaada (ರಾಮನ ಪ್ರಸಾದ/रामन प्रसाद). This dish is made on Ram Navami and offered to lord Ram. In our dish we add jaggery instead of sugar and some people stop cooking at the stage before adding water and make ladoos out of it and called it Raamana Undi (ರಾಮನ ಉಂಡಿ/रामन उंडी)

I love this prasad!! We had a wonderful Sikh neighbour who was a doctor and we called her Dr. Aunty and she lived to be 103 and she used to make this and send it to us!! Yummmm New subscriber here. Thanks for sharing

As my father was in army, we were posted in north India, in Punjab too. Whenever we used to go to temples, or gurudwara we were given kada as prasad which all of our family used to love to relish. I thought it is made with rava but used to wonder that it is completely different from kesari made with rava in our south India. Thank you so much for this simple but very tasty recipe. I always watch and admire you explaining the recipes in a simple way....

Just an addition here. If you're not able to find coarse wheat flour, and you have to use the regular one, reduce the amount of water. Just eye ball it.

God i feel so nostalgic. I spent all my childhood in the colony where majority of the inhabitants were sikhs. The aunties knew my love for the kada prasad so they always brought some for me whenever they went to gurudwara

I watched few videos for this and i must say, yours look the best. I think because you used the karkara aata, which made all the difference. I liked that serving utensil made of brass so much and also finally you served in prasad form into that dadiya, excellent 👌❤️🙏🔥😋🎊
