This piece is a beautiful Tillana set to Kadanakuthuhala Raga. It is very close to my heart because it required multiple layers of creative exploration while choreographing.
As a choreographer & admirer of the Natyashastra movement vocabularies I have tried to incorporate some of the movements which have been quite challenging as it requires sheer control and conviction.
It has equally been exciting to imagine and bring alive short episodes from the life of Krishna in the charana (second of half) of the Tillana.
This musically rich piece based on Sri Krishna is composed by Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna.
