Very important thing about the kafka's kaiju is how it says "kill, kaiju kill", show how it was reacting to the director's because it thinks it's a kaiju

Here's another interesting detail most reactors have missed... the Opening CGI shows the weapons made from Kaiju bodies! You'll see Mina's cannon, and the axe Kickiro (spelling) uses!

The scene with Kafka losing control and the Flying Kaiju was a representation of Kafka's mind and the Kaiju's mind inhabiting the same body, not actually Kafka and the Kaiju inside of the Kaiju No. 8 body. As long as the body isn't in danger of dying, Kafka is allowed to have control, but when the Kaiju senses imminent death, the Kaiju goes into self-preservation mode! At least that's how it appears to me. Even when he fought the vice captain, remember how the mouth automatically formed on Kafka side to catch the vice captain's blade before it could slice him? That was the Kaiju's self-preservation mode kicking in for the first time. Kafka's Kaiju form has elements of human physic and kaiju elements, so technically Kaiju No. 8 is the Kafka/Flying Kaiju hybrid! I also don't think we've seen the most powerful form of Kafka yet. We didn't get a Fortitude reading there at the end, but I'm betting that when his body was growing there before the attack on Sec. Gen. his fortitude was at least 9.9 or greater! Again, once the Kaiju part goes into self-preservation mode, I think it pulls out all the stops! I also think Kafka and the Flying Kaiju have fully merged on a DNA level, so despite looking human, Kafka is a Human/Kaiju Hybrid!

What a heart piercing episode! The feels, right into the core. Will he be ok after this ordeal?

I felt the cliffhanger too when watching the episode about a week in the past, not the worst one but i would put it on place 2, i am lucky that it is only one week. Place 1 is in my oppinion Arcane, i am happy that the 3 year long wait is almost over.

Manga reader the kaiju inside kafka is like godzilla he keeps in check the other kaiju he is the king of the kaiju he took control to protect kafka and kill the kaiju nr 2 he saw kafka didnt want to fight so he took control for him and u guys will see the true power of kafka he will ragdoll the brains of her father

The director fought him to prove a point and he succeeded. He pushed him in a corner and tested Kafka until he genuinely lost control, this 100% proves the director was correct in not trusting Kafka. Kafka is not just human, he is a Kaiju after all. If Kafka loses control on the battlefield, is he gonna attack or kill allies and civilians?

The director was once the strongest, we have another guy now, and spoiler we'll meet him very soon

Purely hypothetical, but I think since we’ve seen Kafka transform his shape and parts of his body, I think his subconscious manifested the No. 8 form. Other than the skull face (idea of monstrosity?), No. 8’s body looks very much like the Defense Force suits, and Kafka has a deep desire to be an officer alongside Mina.

I know that this is kinda late, but "Doesn't he have a Birth Certificate" won't help much. Reason why, they know about Kaiju No 9's ability to take on the form of Certified Humans. A Birth Certificate wouldn't help much as they will be wondering, how long has he been a Kaiju? And is he a Kaiju who is pretending to be Kafka?

In case you were wondering about the Gen. Sect. grabbing a handful of Kafka side to get a blood sample: When Gen Sec. shot at Kafka, the Kaiju body automatically transformed in an instant to protect itself. So when Gen Sec. attacked Kafka's side, it is very likely his side had automatically transformed into it's Kaiju state to protect itself, something just taking normal blood draws might not have shown. They will compare previous samples to the new sample to see what changed if any occurred... possibly trying to determine if there is any "Human" left in Kafka.
