Kafka has absolutely no problem controlling his powers when fighting humans (like the vice captain). His issue here is that the kaiju inside of him wants to kill all other kaiju, and the general is using a named weapon, which makes him appear to be another humanoid kaiju according to Kaiju #8's senses. So, ironically, this situation is so hard for Kafka to prove he's human because his kaiju hates other kaiju so much that it doesn't want to let the "enemy kaiju" live.
None of which has been explained in the anime yet... Love how you imbeciles can't keep your mouth shut for a second to spoil people just so you can seem smart.
No. At least I don't remember the manga ever mentioning something like that and I'm at the recent released chapter. Unless that's what they said in the novel.
@@dsanjuan6993 I took that as kill because it was under threat of dying. Also from what we know Kaijus fight other Kaijus so it's not like his is a special Kaiju that only hates other Kaijus.
@@Sage16226 No, remember when he was fighting the vice captain and didn't have an issue staying in control, despite being nearly cut to the core. Can't say why, but his kaiju doesn't consider humans a threat, even if they are powerful enough to endanger Kafka, but wants to eliminate all other kaiju.
@@emarusso5758 9.8 is the highest number on record, so they actually have never seen that power level unleashed fully before. Prior to that, 9.6 was the highest, with Kaiju #6. Kaiju #9 is unknown, as he doesn't appear on scans.
@@thesarcasticliberal not only that, but the scale is logarithmic, like earthquakes (for reasons that will become clear later), so each decimal point of Fortitude makes a huge difference.
As, other people have mentioned, Kafka's never had problems thus far because what he was fighting was either human, weak mod tier kaiju or one strong kaiju but in that case he wasn't trying to fight against his instincts and was instead fully ready to kill number 9 (thus agreeing with the little.... fly thing that transformed him). The problem here is Kaiju 2 is the former King of Kaiju. That thing was so powerful as a weapon it is still able to radiate the essence of, what can probably best be described as a threat to the entire world. What we are seeing isn't Kafka vs Captain Shinomia, we are watching the former King vs the new King. Two entities so far above any other kaiju that this is probably the first time either one of them has felt threatened by another of it's own species.
All of this Minase slander! 🤣 When she mentions Kafka saving her, it was literally last episode, and she’s one of Kikoru’s friends we’ve seen her with multiple times (including end credits).
Lmao he saved during the attack on the base, she even said that he had finally learned how to use his suit properly when he was actually using his kaiju legs. They went around rescuing others who were hurt together
Kaiju no.8 is an anti-kaiju! The bug said, “kill.. kill… kaiju.. kill”, it’s reacting to no.2s cells and wants it dead, and is assuming 2’s alive. Also he went above fortitude 9.8.
What would be even worse is if next weeks episode lands on a cliff hanger….Good news folks, I heard that not only did a second season get green lit, but it is rumoured to be already in production. I was kind of nervous because it was only yesterday that I heard about it.
I think "spare tire" here in this context means if his human form fails, he's got the kaiju form (his spare tire or emergency plan). Although this is just me. Idk. 🤷♀️
When Kafka transforms, partially or fully, he can regrow limbs but can transforming heal injured limbs? In episode 3, Kafka injured his leg and in episode 4 he transformed into Kaiju no 8 to save Kikoru. Also in episode 4, Kafka was in the hospital healing from his injuries. It is a bit inconsistent Kafka can easily regrow limbs but can't heal injuries.
Maybe he just hadn't learn how to heal back then? He was only first shown to regrow limbs in his fight with Hoshina which was in the next arc and said how regrowing takes a lot of stamina as if that was the first time he did that. It's been shown that he's learning to do new things everytime he transforms. Like the second time he did when fighting against No 9's revived Honju he grew extra braces around his leg to support himself when punching with full force, next time he transformed, he used forcefield thingies and regeneration, next time he used the ability to fly. So it's probably that every time he transforms and fights, he learns new things about No 8. So he probably didn't know he could regenerate in the exam arc
Pause to any scene with a character then compare that to the manga and you'll realize they completely removed the details that's completely disrespectful to the author animators took shortcuts only great scene this episode was with Kaiju num2
Something that' lost in translation is that when Mina was talking to Kafka, she switched from formal to informal and back to formal attitude. The "you" she used in several sentences actually switched from "omae" (formal, for outsiders) to "kimi" / "Kafka-kun" (for a close friend) when the camera wasn't on, and then back to "omae" when she said "sit, its' time". This is something usually lost in English translations because English language does not distinguish between formal and intimate form. For Europeans I hope they make that distinction in their translations.
the lil kaiju fly on his mind, i wonder if it meant that as a Kaiju they must kill, or if they must kill the Kaiju, since Kafka said he was reacting to the director as if he were a Kaiju, since his gear is made out of No2
as others said more clear in the manga, not even spoiling cause honestly sweet fa is known about it yet but honestly i think he's some sort of balance protector like godzilla, or for some reason just REALLY REALLY hates kaiju, maybe started as some weak but sentient kaiju that was treated like dirt by the others and kind by some random humans and so he became like a pochita i guess, he just maybe needs a host to bring out his full potential.
Not really. 99% of the time, Kafka and the symbiote agree that killing the kaiju in front of them is a good idea. It's just, this time, Kafka knows that the General is a human using a weapon with the energy of a numbered kaiju, while the symbiote just sees an enemy kaiju to kill.
JESUS GOD DAMN HOLY LOVIN SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! KAFKA HAS GONE FULL ON BERSERKER…….no, KAIJU MODE FOR REAL THIS TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also that bit with Mina…..man that got me right in the Feels!!!
Manga readers know the animators disrespected this manga they completely removed the details they actually made kafka and isao look like an egg gave them no jawline like bro wtf look at the defense force suits they have no details just plain colors if you look at the manga they actually have lines not just connected colors
There's enough connection between them, but the thing is I don't think there would ever be a reality where he ran away and was able to prove he's humanity later, cause well, first of he from the beginning was completely aware of his situation, like even back then when kikoru promissed to annihilate him if he ever showed to be a threat he just smiled and agreed, he is so damn selfless 😆, but also second, he was already wanted, running away would prove him even more guilty, so doesnt matter what anyone argued in his favor later, there would be no talk, just straight full force to kill him.
7:03 Spare tire meaning his stomach. Like how jeeps have a spare tire on the back of the car but if the spare tire was just a big stomach. This is just what I have lived thinking it has meant whenever I have heard that.
