@@savonmcleod7265 i mean his matchup chart is that of a top 20 character and he just made top 3 at the biggest offline event in a while in japan beating the best character in the country LOL. how’s that for a metric?
@@spoon1078 you mean the metric you just pulled outta your ass. Hero definitely does not have a top 20 matchup spread as his matchups are all over the place. Next him beating joker speaks more to the skill of aka and not necessarily hero as a character. Aka is astonishing with the character but just because he beat XYZ doesn't automatically bump the character up to a borderline top-tier placement. This is Literaly the first major tournament a hero has placed this well in The character has been out for over a year and a half now. And only aka is doing this well with the character.
Tbh, a Hero player can go further than some of the Meta characters. He can delete stocks so easily if practiced with. I low key think people should use him more
@@kennethkjen1996 it would be unfair to the other players who can't read Japanese. He's forced to learn the English names if he wants to compete in America sadly
@@kennethkjen1996 I mean in theory, though it'd be time consuming to have to back out and swap every game he's in. Though the bigger issue is that technically it'd be advantaged to him if ths game was in Japanese, since his English reading opponent couldn't see what he's selecting to react to it.
@@uprollsariotvan ah yeah they can't react to the spells either. to be fair, they wouldn't be fast enough to keep up with akakikusu anyway, that Guy Reads fast as fuck
Love the Hero of course, but Tea has phenomenal fundamentals. There were SO many times where he just called out Menu and rolling or running away in neutral, sprinted from one side to the other, and got a grab off it. Crazy.
Tea has been playing a lot recently, and looking back at these clips, I can really appreciate how much effort Tea puts into fundamentals. He's not just a good Pac-Man player. He's one of the best players in the world, his fundamental understanding of the game is top rate.
@@Pslamist I grew up with Pac-Man. I could never decide on a Smash main until Smash 4 when Pac-Man was announced. I was really happy with the kit they gave him, and all of my friends learned to respect my weirdness. I stopped playing about a year after Smash Ultimate came out, but I got a lot of practice with Pac-Man and still occasionally battle people. I just kinda prefer watching better players fight on RU-vid now. I'm surprised how many people play Pac-Man nowadays. Used to be unheard of. I still get told every so often that my Pac-Man is cool. I just...reaaally hate wifi.
i've been seeing a lot of aka in larrylurr's recent videos on japanese offline tournaments, he is really something, he even managed to take a set off of kome in a prior tournament
9:44 This was just pure flex on Tea's part. He had the stun timing down so perfectly that he charged the move and waited for the stun to end to hit Akakikusu mid-launch instead of just taking the secured kill. Absolutely incredible.
I’m shocked people don’t see how Hero can shake up the meta. He may not be better than all the sword characters but he can challenge players like Pac Man, Joker, Pikachu and etc. his move sets are good against light characters that depend on speed. To add, he can even the playing field if you’re down just because of his buffs. Kinda like Shulk
4:42 basically shows how smart Akakikusu is. Very intelligent and covering all options. Now why TEA threw a projectile at a Hero with Boumce up is beyond me
What an amazing set! These players play out of their mind. I know how good Tea is, but Akakikusu, my boy, is nuts on Hero. Was really rooting for him to make the finals but this is a great run.
It's not that bad for us, most likely even. We have better buttons and projectiles but he has neutral tools to keep us on our toes and we can't camp him otherwise he'll take the time to buff himself. Most likely it is even.
Man, Tea won and he is freakishly amazing! I could never beat him at the skill level I'm at, now. What a legend! That bell is *devastating.* Props to Akakikusu for the good fight! Hero's my main and I love watching other professionals play him. I also love the insane salt people make when Hero wins tough battles like these. My fish meals will never be disgusting again. I will get to a tournament player's level someday. Although, I have no idea how to do an up-tilt consistently :/
Here’s a tip, maybe ur doing up-tilt wrong because u have “tap jump” turned on. Tap jump is when u hit up on ur left control stick and the character jumps. So then that off in settings so all u have to us press up and A and u will always get an up tilt
The knowledge was about knowing what to kill with, since the commentator was thinking about doing fsmash and hoping for a crit. Hope you feel good about randomly commenting videos of games you don't like.
Well I know the probability of bounce to show up increases when you play a player with projectiles. Same with other spells in different situations. At least that’s what I heard.
@@YounesLayachi well it’s what’s I saw somewhere and I almost believe it Bc this hero in this set got like ALOT of bounces. Don’t know though. Maybe someone else can confirm.
Wait you can put the specific skin for hero in your thumbnail but when it comes to bayonetta you always pick the default look when almost all the bayos who play competitively pick the look from bayo 1 look aka the alternative outfit.
Is it though? Really? I doubt that. Caused they did the same for cloud with his alternate outfit and found it and used it for the thumbnail. This the exact same situation with bayonetta. Cloud has 2 outfits his og ff7 outfit and his advent children attire (alt) and bayo has 2 outfits bayo 2( deflate) and bayo 1( alt) so if they can find clouds alt they can do bayonetta alt.
It’s crazy how much of a rush this set gives me lol. You can’t say this Hero is good cause of RNG, he is so smart with his Hero play. He could beat top players around the world no doubt
I feel like the commentators had never seen a hero before the way they hyped up Akakikusu. No doubt he's good but they're acting like this isn't one of Pac-Man's worst matchups
@@straptvyoutube3900 this is true, but we have the tools to do that. His only real keep away rool is side b and if we can punish that he's gonna eat a combo.
That's bullshit how did he break the shield like that? Also - he was at 23% when he killed him with side B. Idk I'm mad for Tea for that, but glad that wasn't what determined the set. If it was that would've been tragic bullshit. Akakikusu has an amazing hero though, but that's just utter garbage if you can break someone's shield with 1 regular back air and the shield is at good health. Also KO'ing at 23% from is lame. That probably would've killed from center stage too.
@@tinyt.w.i.m7291 Yeah, but not a quick back air like that. There are plenty of other characters with moves to break shields too. Those moves they have are specialized to break shields. Thus more telegraphed and harder to land.
It's not that bad. We have better buttons and projectiles, as well as the ability to edgeguard Hero pretty well but he has the neutral tools to keep us at bay as well as superior range. Its likely even.
@@plaverbach depends on what they like to do. You need to be in their face a lot but don't be afraid to shield and play defensive at mid-high percents. Just don't run away and camp, you're gonna give them time to buff themselves. Also keep in mind that side b at first or second charge a is great neutral tool and can keep us away pretty well if we aren't careful so watch out for that move when you're on top of them and specifically the level 2 charge of that move when retreating. If they don't tend to use that move to cover retreats you should be fine to chase since Hero isn't the fastest character ever. Elite Smash Hero also tends to rush in when they get Bounce without remembering that we still have better buttons than he does. This has a lesser chance if working in competitive play but on Elite you can usually afford to play just a bit more patiently since he's probably going to commit to something dumb now that our projectiles are invalidated, so you can really get some combo punishes started on them at that point. Hope this helps! If you want more info you could try visiting the Pac-Man mains Discord, there's a ton of cool people and resources there.
He can't. You clearly didn't see how often Akakikusu had to repeatedly blitz through multiple menus in order to get the spells he wanted lol. He's just good.
“Twice in a stock”, yes he can multiple of the same spell in one stock. But he cannot get the same spell in a row. He can’t get two bounces in a row nor can he get two kabooms or two oomphs in a row
@@marwanbadr9406 The only spell Hero can't use twice a stock is Heal, but otherwise his spells work like this: First Menu: Choose Bounce 2nd Menu: Impossible to get Bounce *After waiting for Bounce to wear off 3rd Menu: Chance of getting Bounce returns.
