THE MAKING OF A GREAT JOURNALIST
While it is the best Job in the world and millions if not billions of people aspire to be great Journalists and work with the greatest media houses in the globe. It is not a field for the faint hearted and for quitters. Journalism is an extremely competitive Job whether in Broadcast Journalism, Newspaper reporting, online or even ones production. Journalism is by nature a deadline oriented, pressure driven environment because stories keeps changing. How does one know whether he is in it for service, fame or to get rich?
One of the major challenges facing Kenyan Journalism includes Independence, Mediocrity and lack of good content which has affected the quality of Journalism in Kenya. Is there good mentorship to the upcoming Journalists so that quality remains to be permanent? Do the great Journalists in the media mentor the aspiring Journalists? Our reporter kagunda kelvin through his newly launched program dubbed the #Making of a great Journalist seeks to help the society get back Journalism on track by interviewing some of the great Journalists working in the Media to address the challenges that Journalism is grappling with and how the relevant stakeholders can intervene and help fine tune the state of Journalism in Kenya.
