Ishigami is a megaotaku, Kaguya is back to her mindgames, Fujiwara becomes so meta it's almost downright self-awareness, and Shirogane absolutely SNAPS...ALL IN ONE EPISODE THAT'S A PROMO IN DISGUISE!!! This is why Love is War is my favorite anime.

so many great things about this, all the meta jokes, the Monogatari reference, Ishigami dodging the bag check, Chika lampshading her own existence, and Shirogane filibustering and screaming his way out of a total loss into a definitive W. really shows the people making this show haven't lost the magic, and season 3 should be incredible. also that Ishigami is still low key the best character in the show

Moe is just a stylized artstyle that exaggerates the cute features in anime characters And they usually also have certain other artistic choices that also serve the same goal, like the framing and special effects and such If an anime is called moe its usually very exaggerated in a specific way But moe is a spectrum And love is war has moe inspired character designs

So episodes of are typically 3-4 manga chapters that often have little direct continuation from one to the next. They often skip or rearrange the chapters they use for pacing and thematic reasons. This was an actual chapter they skipped over that was made the same week Kaguya was announcing it's first season. Skipped in the second season, but used here as a gag. Lol.
