its not about how 'GREAT' this film, its about how sad reality is and and how depressing that he grew with physical abuse and he's old now but he's still an innocent kid inside and he's helpless.

I would definitely love to meet the director to understand what went through his head when making this short film. What he has shown in psychological terms is called, "Displacement" redirection of unwanted feelings towards a less harmful outlet. What he suffers internally towards the end of the short towards his father is an exact depiction of what an abuse victim feels. And he also has shown, "Identification" of how an abusee becomes an abuser. Pretty solid. Like i said, this is beautifully executed.

Domestic violence is so disastrous for mental health of child and this can be easily shown here....bravo direction

Not everyone wants to go back in n their childhood... Not everyone has a good childhood. 🙃

The way his father's fear overtake on him was picturized was *STRONGLY & BEAUTIFULLY* done, that you feel it inside.

People who pet elephants in India, catches them as a calf. The calf is tied to a pole with a very strong chain. They (calf’s) tries very hard to break that chain but fails. In due course of time they understand that they can’t break the chain and stops trying. One day calfs grow to a mighty big elephant while still being tied with the chain of similar strength. Now, they are capable to break the chain with a single kick but they never try as they are convinced that it won’t break. 🙂

It's psychological . The violence is psychological . He has so much anger but Fear within that his body immediately goes weak in front of his father no matter how much he wants to kill his father . Wow.

The way he suppressed his cry when he was going to kill his father... It was an amazing and powerful scene. I nearly cried watching him cry

Ashish is such an asset to the film industry. It so amazing watching him on screen. Hope he does more of these.

Childhood traumas leave those deep scars on soul which you can't erase and it doesn't matter how much we grow old these traumas are always grow more bitter n make a person full of hate n sad . We all r broken child trapped inside a grown up body .

I thought it was my story..all my childhood ws spend in listing of my mother's loud screaming voice....although she was an nurse and a good mother too

My dad was beaten my mom very badly... But he also loves her so much... But that thing gives a deep impact on my mind... I usually think to beat my dad.. But can't.. One-day I took this step when I was 22...but my mom gives me slaps in return with saying ' he is ur dad u won't do it... After sons years I got married nd not to do like this in my life.. 11 years my married life I never beat my wife.. We argue we anger but we talk... This is just bcoz my mother face this all.. And I don't want to play this scene in our lives again

This!! I can't explain, how powerful this movie is!! My soul is shivering!! Very well written and very well made! It shows one of the brutal side of our society! I hope people learn, how domestic violence can impact a kid!

I think the message behind this movie is how badly the behaviour of his dad with his mom in front of their child has damaged his mental level. Children mind is so sensitive specially till the age of 12. So, all parents should take care about their behaviour in home.

Well, Well, Well. I don't know what stops them from injecting this creativity into the nerves of Bollywood. Such great short movies, perfect story, great direction, speechless performances by actors. I am a Pakistani and I don't like Bollywood of today at all. These are the gems I am watching. Investing thousand of crores in making cartoons like movies Pathaan, Dhoom, Ek tha Tiger etc etc and making them commercially blockbusters is just out of my mind. C'mon, If you are capable of making these masterpieces then why not on Big Screens.

2 points!! one is , tht driver will beat his customer for any answer, because he is full of hate...and he dislikes husbands. second is, driver has no guts infront of his father.

I also see such type of incident in my life ...and only I know how much pain and mental disturbance happening with me ,when such type of violence happening with my mom we all doughter try to rescue to her .on those days we always blame to god that why this happening to us ,we cried to see such type of violence with my mom........😥😥

A script can become even more powerful depending on how the Director and Actors handle it. Sandeep Varma, who has also directed Manjunath comes up with a gem of a direction with Kahanibaaz wherein it evokes strong emotions and responses from the audience. Well done Sandeep !! You got the best out of the versatile actor Ashish Vidyarthi as well.

Some traumas get engraved like tattoos on the soul! Irrespective of time lapsed, they keep haunting. In this story he is still living that trauma... like a child captivated forever in the prison of his own helplessness.. Kudos to the writer, the director and the great actor Ashish ! Even the sound is real impactful..

My ex used to hit me and abuse me although his dad did the same to his mom apparently. So I think sons sometimes follow their fathers.

Ashish Vidyarthy is one of the most underrated actors of all time!

When he started saying story at that time only realized he is talking about his own life ..

It is clear that the taxi driver was that small kid , who have seen domestic violence . He can't find out the reason why his father do that to his mother . So this things apply on taxi driver who beat the paasenger in both conditions ( khai mein dhaka dena chahiye YA nhi dena chahiye). He was acting like his father and treat that passenger as his kid. When he returns to his home he is afraid of his father , he is still that small kid from that story who don't have the guts of throwing his father and the result of this thing is that he is still suffering from that violence . And in the end he is ready picking up new passengers as it cleared from the dialogue (kashi chaloge bhaia) and then he asked them -PATI PATNI HO? it clear states that he only pick up married couples and tell them the same story and no matter what answer they will give him but he gonna beat the man from every couple.

Now this is a suspense.The buildup and reveal of the character's moral conundrum was worth it.Ashish Vidyarthi's acting was a cherry on top.All in all,a great short by Sandeep Varma.Take a bow.Kudos

So true... This is not a story of just a kid but anyone who gets outrageous at wrong and immoral deeds but doesn't act due to lack of courage and then anger errupts like a volcano everytime at similar circumstances with others recalling his/her own story !

Enjoyed watching this Film. The Screenplay, Direction and Editing is Excellent. Ashish Vidyarthi has given his best performance.

This story is so beautiful. But it kind of made me laugh when two situations were presented with the taxi passengers. You disagree you die, you agree, then also you die.

As an adult I was under mental trauma for months by seeing this domestic violence to one of my loved one , it's very difficult situation for a child to bear . These are the kind of stories we should screen to our society so that they can see themselves through the movies. Really great work👍

Good make. I have read most of the reviews . And i aprretiate all inputs and thoughts. Its a fact about some people"s life and for others its just a way to review a short film. Moral is always understand other person before reacting. You never know what other person is going through. So best way is to be a learned silent obeerver with respect to all behaviours and thoughts. And for the make of this shortfilm i rate as 5 stars. It takes courage to bring up such issues which are very common but still hidden in our society. Sorry i dint mention domestic voilence and its effect on behaviour anywhere. I understand it. But for some its past and for some its actual and mentaly live situation. Such kids need Help. Understanding is the change. 5 stars.
