Aloha 🌺🌺 wow things have hardly changed from 45 years ago. Lots more traffic but Maui's beauty still there. Mahalo I cry watching the video it took me back to 08/2005 with my husband and I re do our wedding in Makena looking at an spectacularly sun set. Then 7 months later my husband passed after 40 years of marriage. I miss him every single day and I miss Maui. I returned one year later on our anniversary but never return after that God Bless you for sharing. 🙏🌺🙏🌺🥰
very thanks to this video, very informative and detail . By the way, can you tell me what is the traffice from your hotel to airport in the morning busy rush hours between 7:00-10:00 ? I heard it may take 2.5-3 hours 😢😢😢
Aloha, thanks for your comment! They just installed another traffic light so traffic can get bad around 3-5pm. If you leave before or after those times it's not too bad. During those times it could take 2.5-3 hours to get to the airport.
Traffic from hotel to airport at 7-10am shouldn't be that bad, it's mostly the workers getting off at 4pm that causes the build up of traffic leaving the westside.
@@HawaiiWalkingTours many thanks again for your reply , looking forward to seeing more your video on where to go , eat and shop in west Maui. Wish you and your family have a very happy and enjoyable stay in Maui . I will be going to Maui next month .
It would have been helpful for your viewers to mention the Memorial to the Lahaina fire victims as you passed by on the right side. It would have been helpful to pay respects to Lahaina as you entered it and drove by it. You literally drove through the burn area which surrounds the Lahaina mall area from the Mountain to the Ocean. Especially since historic Lahaina does not exist anymore.
Aloha, and thanks for your comment. Although we didn't point out the memorial, we do have a dedicated chapter for this section titled "Love for lahaina" and as a tribute to the area "Lahaina Strong" on the screen . We are still so devastated that our hometown burned down and committed to documenting the recovery of lahaina and not filming inside the burn zone. I hope you have a good weekend and Mahalo for watching ♥️🤙
@@HawaiiWalkingTours I loved that video and sent it to family. Did not know it was you.. I went to. Mala’s reopening and it felt like a little piece of Lahaina but I still can’t handle the devastation. My Dad was a World War ll Pearl Harbor veteran. He flew over Lahaina and took pictures during that time period. I think I gave copies to the Lahaina Historical Society not sure. I am so glad my Dad in one way is not here to Witness what happened. We would walk the harbor and sit under the banyan tree when he came to visit before going to Visit the Arizona Memorial.. He would have been devastated. I know of one family had 96 family members displaced, another 56.
Mahalo for your incredible story. We are hopeful that Lahaina will rebuild and be the best again one day. We have lots of displaced friends and co workers, one day at a time trying to recover in any way possible. Again thanks for your feedback and for watching. 🤙
It’s been 12 yrs since we were there we stayed at Maui kaanapali villas and walked around the whaler village and Lahaina sure miss those days even played golf there. Even did the road to Hana
@@HawaiiWalkingTours would like to return but I would have to find someone to go with since my wife passed in 2016. We walked ,did snorkel sail, just checked out things, we even came back in 2012 a second time with the daughters
