I didn’t actually play on Wednesday or Thursday cus I had stuff come up. I only played with it on Friday and I went 4-0!

Unfortunately coming from the Level 0 judge who is a good friend of mine. 10c Kaido gets played with 5C Kidd on board. Kaido effect activates the DON- gets paid. Kidd effect will activate and be put on standby. Kaido effect then resolved. Kidd is no longer on board and can not activate. the interaction is similar to sugar vs on play removal

The same happens on 5c Kid and 10c Luffy. I think the effect activates, cause firstly you remove the don! and then you do the effect. So the card says when you return don!, replace it.

@@ignacioGRno there was already an official ruling on this and Kid doesn’t activate if he gets removed by an effect that minuses don

This is the correct answer. Kid doesn’t exist on board so his effect can’t go off

My understanding was that the effect only takes place after you remove the don and because Kids effect states when you remove the don you get one back as active it would sequence as Don removal, Kids ability reacting to said removal granting it back as active THEN Kaido's effect activating. Main point is that Kids ability is more reactive to when you remove the don prior to the played cards effect activating.

Auto effects can’t interrupt each other so kaido has to resolve fully before kids effect can activate even though the condition was met when the cost for kaidos on play was paid. After kaidos effect is resolved kid is no longer in play to activate the return Don effect

Apparently the don minus effects are separate effects from the text that comes afterwards. So kaido's don minus effect would activate, then you could activate kids effect, then resolve kaidos effect on the chain. It works with gear 5 luffy as well.

@@Guesswhoswatching2 that was my understanding basically, the Don removal is basically like a cost to be paid before you can activate the actual on play ability, you could theoretically just not remove the don and play Kaido as a big body but as you need to remove the don before his effect actually is activating that's why Kid would still proc, correct?
