The enchanting beauty of the Kaigal falls is located on the Palamaner at Kuppam Highway. It is 123 kilometers and one of the tops places to visit near Bangalore. It is popularly known as Dumukurallu Waterfalls in Telegu, because of its sound which resembles the falling of stones from a high altitude.
The place is well connected to nearby locations which are at a distance of 2.5 km from the Kaigal village, 28 km from the Palamaner, 68 kilometers at Chittoor district, 142 km from Tirupati, 78 km from Kanipakam, 92 from Horsley hills, 55 km from Kolar, 96 from Vellore and 123 Kilometers from Bangalore. Even you can reach from Chennai which is only 225 km to Kaigal Falls.
The Dumukurallu Waterfalls is perennial in nature. The water gushes out of the big rock which is at a height of 40 feet in every season. The flow of the waterfall increases, during the monsoon season. There are numerous natural ponds which are observed at the base of the waterfall.
The falls are mainly formed by the Kaigal Stream, one of the top flowing streams running through the Koundinya Wildlife Sanctuary. The magnificent beauty of the waterfall increases with the presence of the colourful birds, shrubs, wildlife Sanctuary and plenty full of trees spread all across.
There are popular pilgrim places nearby, where Shiva linga is set up. The huge ceremony takes place during the Shivratri festival. The visitors do seek for public transportation to Palamaner Kuppam bus. The Kaigal Falls itself has a bus stop to reach this destination hassle-free.
From this bus stop, it is just 10 minutes walk through the muddy trail to reach the place. The roads from these highways are extremely inaccessible for the vehicles, big or small, especially in monsoon months. Thus, walking is the best option.
There is no accommodation found near to Kaigal Falls. It is a perfect one day trip from Bangalore and any other locations mentioned above. Explore from September to December months.
