I’d only sculpted with clay twice before this, but I found it to be really enjoyable and relaxing. Kaiju No. 8 seemed like a good excuse to sculpt again since the mask didn’t need to match the texture of the rest of the kaiju suit. Also this method gives me the option to cast more than one if I ever want to sell some in the future or cut one up to have the half mask look he has at times. I also started to get a bit burnt out with cosplay stuff after finishing Buu so even though foam and foam clay probably would have been quicker, I think this ended up being a bit better for my mental health and was more creatively fulfilling.
