KAILAN - Basil Valdez 

Kilala ko ang composer ng song na to. Mr. Godofredo Areza composed the melody of the song" Kailan". He was then a music teacher of Ateneo Grade School. Atenista kasi si Basil. Then Mr. Areza requested my father Mr. Rolando Ansay, who was then Filipino teacher also in Ateneo, to put the lyrics. So he did. Kaya ang melody is Mr. Areza and lyrics fr. Mr. Ansay.

Salamat kabayan sa pagresearch mo din sa kantang ito. Matalik na magkaibigan ang aking ama at si Mr. Areza, at noong panahon na yon, nag collaborate sila. Ang musika ay kay Mr. Areza, lyrics fr. Mr. Ansay. My dad then was head teacher of Filipino in the gr. sch. kaya siguro alam niya ang mga salitang "timyas" at "alintana". Tinanong ko sya kung bakit wala ang pangalan niya sa plaka, at ang sagot niya'y " sa magandang samahan ng magkakaibigan, hindi kailangan ng kapalit". Salamat ulit kabayan!

10 years or more ko na ata tong hinahanap i heard ths song sa medly ni miss regine from that time talgang nagandahan ako sa kanta. Iba ang impact sakin ng mga opm old song specially vasil valdez na kanta. Nakakabalik ka s panahon nila ng dahil sa mga kantang ganito. Thank you sa nag upload...... God bless

Yes, finally found this song that dates back from his first album "Ngayon at Kailan Man": 1977. A very underrated but beautiful love song nevertheless. For you my dear.

Wow, ang bibigat ng mga lyrics nia. Most which I don't even understand what it means. LOL! But by reading it, I think I get it. LOL! "Dahil sa "timyas" ng iyong ganda, puso ko'y dagli mong nahalina". Wow... who writes like this nowadays w/ such finesse and style? Pero kuya, too good to be true din po, ano po? LOL! "Ni walang halong biro sana". LOL! Lovely song! Thanks for sharing w/ us all! :-)

Naku di naman po! Mga classic nga po at mga hindi basta-basta na kakanta ng iba. Pero meron kayong point dahil malungkot nga ang pagka kanta nia. ha ha. Iyan yata ang style ng pagka kanta nila.
