Thanks for putting this up. I'm a 1969 Kailua High Grad . When we first moved to Kailua we lived in the Kailua Arms Apartments, on Kailua Rd. which was across from the School baseball fields which was next to Times Supermarket. I went Times Market almost every day. What I remember most was seeing Ripper Collins in there. Behind our apartments (were Target is at now) was a dairy farm. When the wind was 'makai' you could really smell it. I love Kailua and I always call it my home even though I haven't live there for many years.
Tim pekarek if you're talking about on the road then yes you're right. It depends on where you are riding your bike. There are bike lanes in different areas or different towns, others time they have to share the road with the cars. I believe it's like that because it's not as easy to just ride your bike from town to town so cars and buses are the main way to get to most places. Happy New Year =)
We're very interested in 'slow TV', no presenters, muzak or opinion, just an immersive tour with natural sounds and sights. Thanks for adding this really enjoyable one. I hope between us we can spread these kind of videos around a little. It's a great way to learn more about our world.
Living Walks hey my walking friends! I hope to get some equipment upgrades so I can have nice clean sharp videos like you have! Thank you for taking the time to watch one of my videos! I enjoy watching your videos too! Have a great day! Aloha=)
It's been years since I've been back to Hawaii and this has brought back memories. I use to attend Kailua Intermediate around the way from there and Lanikai Elementary. I see a lot of it has changed, but there were a few things I saw that stood out still.
Nicholas .T oh cool! I'm glad you could reminisce! Yeah there's a lot of changes in Kailua especially with Target and also the Macy's area. Thank you for watching! Have a great day! Aloha =)
Is that little Marsh freshwater? Just curious .....is there any chance I could come visit you? I was born in Kailua and wish I could explore my native City
tlbirdsong1 I think it is brackish water, so I think a mixture of salt and freshwater because is connected to a stream that meets the ocean. I removed your post of your phone number because you don't want random people to have your number. As far as meeting up, I really don't have time to meet up with people. I have a family to take care of and don't even have time to see my own friends, I appreciate the thought. I would be happy to answer your questions if you have any. Aloha =)
FYI (OVER EASY) they told us they do not welcome Japanese Tourist and do not need my business so I left and felt they were so rude, her complaint was Japanese tourist don't tip and her waitresses get paid minimum wage!
Takeshi Miyagi if you got that kind of response from them don't give them business! That's awful! Sorry you got that kind of treatment =(. Regardless if you trip or not you should not get that kind of treatment. Sorry. Hope their business goes out of business for treating you like that. Do you remember the name of the business?
JAM! Sup! Cool! We've eaten there! Sorry you're not there anymore. You can always hook up to Hawaii through us if you need to. We should do another Kailua video sometime again. I got to get Kaneohe too. Did you see our Kailua Beach Area walk ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_E0aZ_FfS3A.html. If you're interested anyways. Do you have a favorite place or thing you liked to do while you were here? Thanks for watching! Aloha =)
My Blu Ray player isn't supporting the RU-vid app, or something, so I haven't been able to watch on my TV lately... but I guess I have remedied that by hooking up the Chromecast I almost forgot I had.
Tr0nzoid oh sorry hate it when the devices or apps don't work and you have to figure out something else. Throws everything off =(. Hope the Chromecast works. Thanks for your support!!! Hang in there! Have a great rest of the week! Aloha =)
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I love Kailua so much! I will watch this video over and over! I love y'all so much! I especially needed this today! I would love to see it in person again. It has grown so much! Thank you for being so patient and thorough. It was wonderful!
Delores Davis thank you! Really appreciate your support! I'm glad you love it! We want to do a beach area walk too so you can look forward to that in the future. They recently redid the road around the stores in front of the beach area so we will try to walk that small kayak shopping center area and walk along the road across the bridge and on the beach or something like that. Thanks again Delores! Have a great rest of the week! Aloha =)
Cameron Heinz thank you so much! We really appreciate the support! Hope we keep taking you on trips you can enjoy at least some of the time. Also, if you have suggests on walks let us know. Have a great rest of the week! Aloha =)
I love Kailua....used to enjoy shopping at the Macys/ Liberty...I hear it is gone. Teddy's Bigger Burger SIGH. My niece used to work at the California Pizza kitchen.

Awesome your niece worked there, they must have gotten free meals lol! Yum but hard work! Thanks for the comment! Have a great rest of the week! Aloha =)
Hi peter, I would love to settle in Kailua town, or Kanehoe. Please upload more video of that. Excellent video and information. Also love to work in medical field or research so please if you can help with that I would appreciate. I am looking for work so I can move from NJ to Hawaii.
Hena Danny hi =). There's no Peter here unless you were referred by my friend Peter or his family? Just saying they won't see your message. Or maybe you watch another youtube channel and this video played after a video you were watching on Peter's channel and you mistaken this for his videos? In any case I hope Peter can help you. As for more videos you can always watch our videos here at PhotoLukeHawaii if you want to. Have a great day! Aloha =)
Seahouse Ambience Lol! Holiday Mart! Wow I forgot about that! It's funny I asked my wife if there was still Holiday Mart in Pearl City and she said Don Quijote? I laughed cause I briefly forgot they all changed to Don Quijote in 2006 (I had to look that up). Anyways, yeah I miss the Daiei Holiday Mart. Have a great rest of the week! Aloha =)
