KAITHI: How Lokesh Kanagaraj writes & what to expect in MASTER? - What She's Telling Podcast Ep.02 

Okay as a person who enjoys vijay... I feel like in Master, Lokesh should not compromise himself for Vijay. I feel like the era of movie for star/actor should end or should decrease and a movie should focus more on the director. Ok like for example if a Vijay movie u know there will be mass scenes, dances, mass dialogue and all. But we've had enough of tht and as a actor they should be flexible to act in any script. Like Karthi, you can't expect the same Karthi in every movie and thts why im more excited for Karthi and Vikram movies coz they experiment with new avatars and different movie portrays a different them. So thts my thought for Master. Edit: Even the first look doesnt look like a typical vijay movie's first look and i feel like the blur is the hint Lokesh is giving us tht this movie will not be your typical Vijay movie.

As a thalapathy fan, I would prefer Master to be a pure Lokesh Kanagaraj film because Lokesh himself has the style of bringing mass elements organically within the content with a unique twist in characterisation and screenplay just like he did in Kaithi.

It would be great to have Vijay finally do something fresh! Hopefully no compromises to what possibly is an amazing script.

I've got an idea. Portrayal of women in Tamil cinema: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. All that misogyny and how female characters are written.

Well, I am a Vijay fan but somehow i feel his movies are similar for the past few years. I think Master should be a Lokesh film with no compromise but deep down i feel there will be a typical vijay elements in the movie( i can be wrg). whatever happens i will still love him. Thalapathy daww!!

To answer the question at the end: As a Thalapathy fan and a movie fan, I feel I would enjoy the movie more if Vijay made a complete Lokesh Kanagaraj film. I hope that Lokesh doesn't compromise at all.

Talk abt dhanush latest movie asuran and upcoming movies

Obviously kaithi and asuran are the best movies in 2019. Good talk guys👍 Just one request maybe for next ep. you guys can talk about 'Actor' suriya. How NGK, Kaappaan and his previous film went unnoticed for the past 5 years. Because I've seen a lot of people who used to like Suriya films but now they just ignore his new releases simply like that. Maybe you guys can talk about his best movies to remind them what a capable actor he is and there was a time when suriya was top competitor for vijay/ajith. Maybe can discuss where it went wrong or what people do really expect for his upcoming releases. Tq😉

As a Thalapathy Fan, I REALLY REALLY hope that Lokesh will not compromise for Thalapathy and direct the movie his way! We have seen enough build ups, intro songs, mass dialogues in the past 5 years where Thalapathy worked with A.R Murugadoss and Atlee back to back which helped him reach tremendous success and built an empire in the Tamil Cinema Industry. Now is the time he should venture out and try different genre, different characters, different stories and work with different directors to prove that he is so much more than just a commercial movie hero who takes up a mission and helps people of said mission to reach success in every movie. Sure, we do enjoy it but oru fan ah I want to see my Thalapathy in every angle which proves he is a man of talent.

Good one, guys! If i was to talk about Lokesh Kanagaraj (LK), i would start with his first movie; Maanagaram. The screenplay and hyperlink execution was well made. As a debut, he knows what to do with the story and its' proven. When it comes to Kaithi, LK wrote it for Mansoor Ali Khan initially. In my opinion, any actor can act in this story because the content is very strong and LK knows what he wants from the actor (he just extracts the acting from them). After Karthi comes in, it became a bigger scale. LK's writing was very detailed in every scene and all actors managed to do it perfectly. The moment i read the news about LK's Master, the expectations became high. I hope LK justify with his story rather than comprising with commercial formula in Tamil cinema due to actor's high star value. It is just my opinion. :)

Tbh, i really enjoy your intelligent and also in-depth review on Tamil cinema. Really can see the effort taken in doing research for each and every movie you review. Especially on Kaithi. Kaithi is a movie that I have watched but only after listening to your review, I understand the reason for certain plots to be as such. Great effort !

Just to compromise fans, it will be great if Vijay have one kind of a Intro song sing by him but those dance will not work for this film. Earlier there was something leaked about this movie which is Vijay singing a Dialogue kind of song which he will address some typical vijay's motivation & political dialogues. I think that would be cool. To also compromise the fans the BGM need to be powerfull so that with that background music itself we can feel the mass. I will love if Lokesh didn't compromise anything for Vijay & there was also news that Vijay asked Lokesh to do anything he want. Vijay also acting clean shaven for the film. I hope it will be A very Good Lokesh Kanagaraj film which Vijay in it.

As a vijay fan.. i had enough seeing this fan service tingz, mass scenes.. i really love it but i felt its enough and its time for him to explore and do something new.. making a movie with no songs, more acting, or doing a supehero film.. all these things he should explore or consider of doing and im very much looking forward to that.. its not that his films should'nt have mass scenes or a fan service thing, they should reduce it or just touch it here n there not much

I'm a Vijay fan from the movie Friends.I think he did all those commercial films in the last decade (2010-2019).So i hope he doesn't continue that in 2020 and make films with directors whom doesn't compromise anything for a Star.Well that my opinion.And I think you guys should do another episode about which actor and director you guys want to make a film together

I think master seems to be actual vj movie with proper execution of logic.

The movie either Actor's Movie or Director movie is not so important if director could impress us as in story writing ... In a movie, there are 2 things drag movie longer... One obsoletely the songs and another maybe the love portion or comedy portion which been additional to the movie... If Lokesh can prevent tat happening... So v can enjoy the pure full content....

I did like kaithi but I liked bigil better of 2019. this is because of vijay and tale's amazing combination that I always enjoy. however kaithi was also a great film but I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much if karthi was swapped for vijay. therefore in master I think lokesh kanagaraj should make a film he wants to create but add certain significant aspects and icons of vijay. for example his mass entries, style, comedy, romance and his flow when it comes to action (realistic action and non realistic). so I would prefer a vijay film directed by likes kanagaraj but at the same time I don't want him to compromise too much so that us audience can see a new version of a vijay film.
