if a may got someone u might enjoy astralspiff first recommendation of his would be his currently 2 gtfo videos one is 2h one is 3h both quite a bit of editing. Telling a story along the way. Another recent one would be the mountain climbing game he did wich name escapes me rn but those are definitely more focused on him and chat talking while he climbs the mountain, though there are hard and clutch moments Hope you enjoy :)

The gradual decent into madness at the A Very Spooky Sprint portion as it morphs from “Yet another hard Mario Kaizo level” to “We have to win the election and my first act as representative will be to put Boo down like the dog he is.” elevates this video from good to phenomenal.

My biggest takeaway is that the camera in normal Mario Galaxy is _phenomenal._ I never remember having camera problems, and it has to follow the player around the weirdest, gravity-bending geometry in 3D platforming. I can't imagine how many specific camera instances they needed to make to account for everything. You sure miss the finesse when its gone, eh? Congrats on your run Heff, and quality production!

It's not gone, the hack just takes you through areas the camera doesn't normally expect you to. It's just an oversight the dev didn't bother fixing.

@@curlybrace4984 I wouldn't even say he "didn't bother", I'd argue that stupid, unfair difficulty is the name of the game. Hardcore agree to how amazing the camera is in the original! I'm replaying Galaxy in the All Stars release, and after seeing it back to back with SM64? Holy shit I forgot how much Nintendo learns from previous games.

I joined the stream during the Cyclone Stone Fast Foes comet run, and I was so drawn in that I came back every single stream up until the final farewell, participating all the way through despite normally never chatting in streams. Despite this video being a feature length film, it doesn't even remotely begin to fully encapsulate the experience of being a part of this journey as a viewer, nor the sheer depth of the highs and lows this odyssey threw at you. Buoy Base. Bigmouth. Ghostly. Bubble Breeze. Dusty Dune. The sheer tribulations you overcame, the cooperation with the stream chat to brainstorm how to overcome obstacles, the way you swept the Boolitical Primaries with grace and tact and struck down the lies of your vile meat-lobbying opposition. Truly, this experience deserves to go down in the annals of legends. Godspeed, Heff.

Also, if you didn't know, your name is in the credits for Version 2.0 of Kaizo Mario Galaxy, so your name is cemented in SMG history forever. So Kaizo Mario Galaxy 2 when? (This is an obvious joke. This was an excellent video. I find that quality of these types of videos where you recap a big challenge run relies entirely on the pacing and editing. Some people skim over the whole run way too quick, so you can never get invested in how stuck they got on some levels. They’ll just say “this one was brutally hard but after a billion attempts I got it”. Some people just post their entire stream. You strike a perfect balance where the easy stuff is touched upon and skimmed over and the hard stuff is lingered on just enough. Not so much that it’s boring but long enough so that we can really feel how challenging it was. Great video!

Absolutely incredible. The most secondhand fun, frustration, suspense & triumphant ive felt watching a playthrough of anything. This was truly a masterpiece of a video and thank you for putting yourself through this and then editing it all so we can enjoy it here on youtube. Great work man. You puts MONTHS of effort into this project and it SHOWS!!! This was honestly so moving to watch a second time, getting to see the parts I missed and whatnot. The entire journey was just like a best-selling story, with moments of doubt and depression, only to be shattered by the extraordinary achievements you were able to accomplish. I just watched this specific part, but when you did the Cosmic Mario race in Space Junk, you were doing a scrapped star. A Cosmic Mario race was planned as the first comet star of the galaxy, but it was ultimately scrapped and replaced with a speedy comet for pull star path instead. I just think that’s pretty cool

I remember Dunkey saying that the Mario Galaxy devs, frustrated with programming a camera to track Mario’s movement around oddly shaped planets, decided to just manually set hundreds of camera locations for each level depending on where you’re standing. What this means is that if people start editing the level geometry, or make you go through a different path than the one the devs originally designed, you’re gonna have a bad time.

This is honestly a fucking inspiring video. I just found your channel and watched this whole thing over the course of a few days when I had some time on my hands, and by God. This is an AMAZING video, some of the best editing you've done so far, all compressed into an extensive ~3 hours. I really do wish I could've been there to watch live, but YT literally never notified me of your streams. Gonna start tweaking my notification settings so I can try seeing you more often. 1:13:00 in super mario galaxy 2, there's a level with the tox boxes where they are borderline going lightning speed and you still have to find a way past them. That made this sped-up version of the level all the more painful. They move much faster than these do, in my memory, but I can tell from looking that these are *much* more difficult to deal with due to all the risky maneuvers.

Ayeee GG's man! That was amazing! I don't if people know about it, but the latest version of KMG had lots of QoL improvements (mostly camera weird movement fixed) and more challenging stars. ex. Topmaniac floor is lava and you get Bee Mario, which means you can only move em with ground pound (and 1hp comet makes it even worse hahahah)
