naruto gave kakashi the 1st volume, the one they're talking here the 1st edition of 5th volume, so the one he has is probably 2nd edition of 5th volume this usually happens when a book's content is updated/changed a bit so they release it again as the 2nd edition of the same book

Wrong... one of the books didn't have a proper ending; the reason being that when the book got revised the ending got taken out. The first editions of the book had the proper ending... the second edition and those beyond didn't. Kakashi apparently got his hands on a later edition, the one WITHOUT the proper ending.

It would be funny if Naruto ghost wrote additional volumes for his old "Pervy Sage" and used the proceeds to fund some charity. Might make a fun filler episode sometime where he is trying to conceal his ghost writing or he is found out by Hinata or Kakashi.

In the episodes dedicated to unmasking him throughout OG naruto and shippuden, the hidden springs arc in Boruto and in some cutscenes from naruto generations (I think) you can see he actually takes off his mask when he eats/drinks, but he does it very fast and it's always comically obscured by something

He actually takes it down when eating or drinking but some cosmic force always covers it from any recording device.

1. Fused Momoshiki used Shikamaru's shadow paralysis jutsu on them to where they couldn't move and Boruto had to throw his vanishing rasengan in order to free them and save them. 2. After the fight vs Naruto and Sasuke, Fused Momoshiki replenished his health and chakra with the scientific ninja tool from Katasuke and ate 3 more chakra pills which replenished him even further and still lost 1v1 to KID Boruto while Naruto and Sasuke were pinned down by chakra rods. 3. Base Boruto using a shadow clone was capable of blitzing Fused Momoshiki and punching him in the stomach, activated his jougan and countered Momoshiki's taijutsu which created an opening for another vanishing rasengan hit to his ribcage all before the real Boruto came out of the sky with his giant vanishing rasengan(that was mixed with both Boruto and Naruto's chakra) to defeat Fused Momoshiki. But the *FACT* remain that KID Boruto did indeed fight *FUSED* Momoshiki 1v1 and held his own and won proving he's already Otsutsuki tier, it's not debatable.

Defused Momoshiki did the opposite.
