If I see a single "no one can deflect the emerald splash" joke in the comments I'll be very disappointed Sorry this took so long y'all. Hectic week for me. More stuff in the works right now!
@@diegodankquixote-wry3242 The knives pierced his chest during his final emerald splash. He didn't inform anyone of this injury however (somehow), and died of blood loss on the way home.
"After waking up and talking to the Crusaders about Holly's condition, Kakyoin reveals Hierophant Green's definitive ability; Infinite Air Dashing. He petitions a helicopter, not to fly to Egypt with it, but to jump off of it and air dash to DIO's location in Cairo.."
It's funny how Rubber Soul completely breaks all conventions of viability in HFTF. You start with a top-tier, size up his sprite to make him a bigger target and make almost every single move worse than the OG. "Does he at least still have good mobility?" No, in fact he has the worst in the game. "Is he at least still the same archetype?" Nope, he's now a Passive Stand character, a trait so bad that it instantly dooms lesser characters to low-tier trash. "This sounds terrible, what DOES he have?" An insane counter, one fantastic Super and one pretty alright one, a Throw so good that he's a better "grappler" than Joseph, and the best Guard Cancel. And it turns out that even mostly-worse versions of Kakyoin's moves are still really damn good. ...also he has some absolutely primo taunts, which is huge for the mental game.
Rubber Soul was always a pretty funny character in the manga. He was probably one of DIO's strongest servants--certainly top five at worst, possibly only outclassed by Vanilla Ice and DIO himself--but he was a total jobber because he was such an idiot. He could have killed the entire Joestar Group with ease, if he hadn't insisted on being a sadistic jackass. Incidentally, the fact that Rubber is taller than Kakyoin is right out of the manga. Yellow Temperance gets bigger the more matter it consumes, and Kakyoin had gotten visibly taller by the time he revealed himself.
@@TerumimiHonestly yellow temperance is such a big threat that you put him in any story. He's easily the main antagonist or villain, especially with his abilities
I love how fighters like these tend to have t flavors of the protag but here we have 3 kaks, 2 polnareffs, 2 Dios, 2 and a half Chacas (if you count B.Pol) and 2 distinct Josephs
I ADORE Kakyoin's animation, the zesty flare with which he does even his normals, and how he has randomized poses for Emerald splas and his taunt and how EVERY SINGLE ATTACK HE DOES allows you to stay in that pose animation however long you want and the way that Hierophant Green glows dark and bright all the time and the dynamic zigzagging way in which he does his long range attacks and how he CONSTANTLY SPARKLES IN STAND ON MODE and how you get to fully control HG's tentacle for his super and he has a RAGING DEMON WHERE HE JUMPS INTO HIS ENEMY'S HEAD AND BRAINROTS THEM😂 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Rubber Soul does have one of the faster rolls in the game so it's something to think of in neutral. His wake up is also the second fastest in the game so he can slip through oki more easily.
funny how khan is the only char specifically coded to be able to break nets with any move (even with just his feet). its like a little buff the devs gave him cus they knew he would immediately die
I love how out of all of the characters i gravitated towards, Robert Saul was the one i liked the most out of the roster. Something about funny goo man spoke to me
Robert Saul Also his charisma is off the chart, that's enough to sell me the character -not to mention that he's not execution demanding but God i love him so much in this game-
New Kak is also one of only two active Stand characters added to Heritage for the Future, the other being Vanilla Ice (and both are just clones of other characters already in Venture). All other newcomers are passive Stand users.
The amount of times I've watched MrMix talk about this JoJo fighting game is very numerous by this point and yet, I still am gripped by his commentary and breakdown every single time. This goes for any game and character he covers really. MrMix, honestly one of my favorite fighting game breakdowners, up there with Big Yellow. Keep doing what you're doing, dude. Love these videos.
I remember playing HFTF back then during 2016-2018, then I returned for a bit around 2022 out of curiosity. Imagine my shock when I see this character who used to be in pretty respectable tiers suddenly skyrocket all the way to the very top, and sometimes even banned. Just goes to show how much potential we can discover in a character if we put enough time into em.
A video on the time stop users would be interesting just to go into further details on Jotato's gameplan/toolkit and the differences between Dio and Shadow Dio
2:14 vanilla ice has something similar on his 2a where you can cancel some recovery by walking, it lets you get 2A 2A (microwalk) 2C at the end of tandems for hard knockdown
7:34 Capcom really loved doing the flashing lights a lot for a ton of their games. I'm surprised they never got any complaints of people having seizures playing their games. Not only Jojo's, but SF vs X-men had a TON of flashing light effects. Hell even Phoenix Wright games overuse a lot of flashing light effects in the old DS games.
I'm personally glad the tournament legal Kakyoin is the one with Sunglasses because he looks SO MUCH COOLER!! Also huge thanks for the flashing lights warning! I don't suffer epilepsy but I don't think I could play Kak for such an extended amount of time that's egregious
You know, I don't even have epilepsy, but watching videos of this game really makes me wish there was a patch to reduce the flashing. It's literally everywhere when you pay attention.. ridiculous even relative to other games at this time
I love your videos! I can’t believe you started playing No More Heroes on New Kak, the coolest song for the coolest character! (Also make a video on the Anubis’ or Abdol ok thanks)
It really is crazy how well they translated Kak's stand ability into HFTF. It really would be a pain in the ass to fight even outside of a fighting game so they did a good job making him top tier

it is 11:40pm and i have never had any interest in jojo or their fighting games but according to my brain this is something i absolutely need to watch (but hey this is a great video so im not complaining)
Id say the most broken thing about nets is his free 50/50 oki and camping/defending. He has some of the best turtling in the game with net, if you don’t break the net/use a stand attack then you can’t pressure him at all on block, since he will get free punishes on you just as long as he blocks your attack, and can make some matchups nearly unwinnable if he gets a health lead and decides to camp your ass for the rest of the match
I loved playing him casually back in 2020 but i never knew he was S tier at thee time and went in blind/played since he was my fav character so i was always barraged with insults during online matches for it (even though i was trash)...
It's pretty funny that arguably the blandest "Crusader" has the most versions in the game, tied only by Anubis on a technicality, but unlike all the other "clones" all versions of Kakoyin are good. Hol, Joseph, and even DIO to a degree sure wish they could have gotten that much love.
Really, Polnareff, Joseph, Hol Horse, and DIO all have a variant, so the thing that pushes him into outlier territory is just Rubber Soul. The main reason, I suspect, is... well, if you look at characters in HFTF, and Jojo's Venture, you pick up on a pattern. The entire cast of Venture, except the secret characters Young Joseph and Shadow DIO, are Active Stands. Meanwhile, of the newcomers in HFTF, the only ones to be Active Stands are New Kakyoin and Vanilla Ice--everyone else is Passive. I have to speculate that this was to save money, since it's easier by nature to make Passive Stand characters than Active Stand ones. Ice was a boss in Venture and had a full Active Stand moveset, so they just needed to make him playable. For New Kakyoin, about 90% of his moveset is recycled from Kakyoin to some degree, so keeping him an Active Stand was no problem. Meanwhile, Hol Horse came in Heritage, so he was was stuck as a Passive Stand (and by extension, so was his variant), and Black Polnareff's whole moveset is different enough from standard Polnareff to accommodate the sword that he had to be mostly new. As for Shadow DIO and Joseph, they're Passive Stands for character reasons. The point of Shadow DIO is that this is DIO before the finale when he was concealing The World's power--he's not going to be able to turn it on and have it fly around punching people in full view because it goes against the whole concept of him. And Young Joseph just doesn't have a Stand, period, so him being a passive Stand also makes sense. Now, as for why they didn't also make DIO with the jacket on into his own character, when he had a full moveset from when he was a boss? I dunno, Kakyoin's just privileged like that.
i'm glad most players on fightcade either didn't care to learn, refused to abuse so on and so forth. i could of never had even watched part 3 if i didn't get decent as jotaro and enjoy the game so much
Although I don't play many fighting games, I find broken or unique fight game characters hilarious. Like Junpei's entire deal in the Persona 4 fighting game or Doctor Bosconovitch in Tekken 3. But Kakyoin is so interesting. They made multiple versions times, gave him the same style of move set, yet each version is still somewhat unique. It's also funny that all Kakyoin had to do to be let into the fighting game tournaments was put some shades on.
The nets fascinate me, they could be amqzing for a spider like character in my gimmik focused (the same way guilty gear is kinda) fighting game And yes this is a note so i know why i put this in my private inpiration playlist 😄
Nkak has never been remotely considered bottom 3 so no clue where you got that from. Rubber was only "bottom 3" according to the weird japanese mu chart at the time which the vast majority of (relevant) western players disagreed with, so he wasn't seen as bottom 3 either
My first in counter with was heritage to the future on a capcom acarde emulator.I was thought JJBA was a video game and the manga and anime adoptions of the game.
I'm waiting eagerly for the video on shadow dio. Dio is my favorite character, but when I tried playing him I couldn't handle the insane execution requirement, so I'm curious about the opinion and analysis on the shadow version
Both kaks get carried hard by nets, you barely need any skill playing this game to use it. Doesn't matter which one is using it, it's just a crutch tool. Anyone that tries to downplay either of these characters truly know nothing of fundamentals.
I think this is sort of accurate for the real [kakyoin's stand] (idk how to write the name), absolutely obliterates everything if used correctly and at it's maximum, kakyoin could have destroyed dio in like 10 seconds if he shrinked his stand, sneaked into dio's body and turning his brain into blood (damaging the brain so much there is no longer a brain) and no dio would not regenerate from that, it is stated and sorta shown that a vampire dies if you A expose them to the sun (hamon is the energy from the sun, it is just method A) B obliterate the brain or C pillarmen... just pillarmen in general
