70% of English Va’s in general sound lifeless I have no clue why, every other nationality has at least some form of expressed emotions through their lines, but there are very few EN Va’s that are actually good at their job The worst part is it’s not even because of the language itself, because when it’s a Bri’ish actor it almost always sounds good Edit: i did some quality testing, and have come to the conclusion that y’alls standards are too low (or mine are just too high) after my tests I can say that there are a few ops i missed that did have good actors, but my opinion still stands Also please don’t respond to this unless you have an actual argument, I don’t care if my “take” is bad, it’s how i feel, you’re all free to your own
@@dokutah7374 Never have a seen a post so objectively wrong. There are hundreds of EN vas good at their job, all fully capable of properly expressing a wide range of emotions. If a character sounds lifeless, 99% of the time its because that's how the character actually is. Idk how, after over 100 voices, you could come to such an asinine conclusion.
@@daze3x87I think it is just a mix of understanding the language, and not seeing the character's body language. From what I know, JP voice actor super exaggerate their voicelines, I imagine most ppl who use JP voice line don't understand Jap that much so we just think they are expressive. If an English voice actor tries that super exaggerated stuffs. We just see it as cringe.
@@dokutah7374you're lifeless and deaf if that's your opinion. Laughable and pointless rant you made for your weird biases. Majority of the EN cast is very good and fit the characters they voice very well. You're just tone deaf.
Honestly, she sounds perfect. There's a sense of maturity to her voice that is, at the same time, buried beneath a layer of ice that has come from living as long as she has.
woooh I never check voice lines videos so I'll have them as a nice surprise in game but Kal'tsit speaking in English is something I can't wait for. it's just like Ines described her in Darknights memoir. it feels so mechanical and yet full of humanity
The VA nailed her Promotion 2 talk. Before that, I wasn't exactly sold on her voice. But everything after that was on point. Really good! "What. Are you doing?"
I like this one, tbh, I kind of expecting her to speak in more poetic and older way, but this is good enough. Second favourite after Erica Lindbeck on Ines.
Not quite the voice I expected to come from her, honestly Reed EN is much closer to how I imagined her, maybe she lacks the softness her JP had. Either way, it's still a good Kal dub especially with the lore revealed to us in lonetrail. Also I find it uncannily funny how Kal'tsit managed to sound more robotic than Ptilopsis.
Kinda like JP voice more because it's more soft and soothing, but still emotionless and in-character. But now I'm torn between wanting to understand what she talks and JP voice. Choices choices
The only part I dont like is she says Awake instead of Awaken. Awaken sounds more badass command to make Mon3tr rise, awake sounds like "Yeah, dont worry, Im awake"
Nice performance from the EN VA.👏👏👏 Her level of intellectual scorn although just below the JP VA, but you can feel her True damage from battle voice lines. I wished the EN VA will perform the scene from S2 E1. Sorry 😞 I’m not M, but I want a different feel after the JP VA performance made me hold my breathe 😨.
@@VonTachyon so what? i don't have the right to like something? even if it's fake, it's still a product of her original JP voice. Please tell that sentence to all the Vocaloid fans out there lmao.
@@narius_jaden215in this specific case we *could* just write it off as that But there are very few EN actors who actually know how to play a character, half the EN cast is Lifeless, the other half is Lappland
@@dokutah7374looking at your comments you just clearly have a bias against direct english castings and favor those with "accents". Weird bias to have when a lot of the English dubbing in Arknights fit well within the characters they portray. Bro just hates standard english for some reason.
Same Dude, Like just stick with your original genre, Movies are best in Hollywood, Anime are best in Japan, EN VA doing cute anime girls is too cringe for me, Don’t mind the haters they are your average V-tuber cringy fans 😂
Honestly. I don't like this performance that much :/ JP voice has balance between seriousl woman and emotion during operation. EN voice is like... "awake :l"
