Thanks, Joe! Please, more Kalandra. They are amazing, and deserve all the exposure they can get! One thing, I got the sense that you are thinking Kalandra is the name of the singer, but it's actually the name of the band. Katrine Stenbekk is the lead singer. She is fantastic, but so is the rest of the band. Please also react to Aurora's new song, "Your Blood."
They are going to be big! The best new music is coming from Scandinavia as well as the growing popularity of Pagan Rock. I know because I'm nearly 62 and there's been nothing like this since the 90's.
(this is Joe) I'm glad y'all enjoyed this so much! It's so fun to share new music with people. That pulsing bass synth was what I had in mind asking about compression, and trying to really hear what's going on. I totally agree that all the bits and pieces that give me something to listen to are so much of what I love about this song. Kalandra does a great job with their use of space, too. This is definitely one of those I crank real loud in my car to get myself pumped up when I need it.
Well what we may be hearing is the Siberian influence as a lot Scandinavians have this as part of their dna. It’s a very indigenous style of melody. Listen to Omnium Gatherum, Amorphis-My Kantele Absolutely love the evolution of Scandinavian music. Love Kalandra Super joy Gratitude
I’m sure there’s some I haven’t heard…or live performances or something. Maybe we can find something good to do. I love them. We’ll def do anything new they come out with. 😊 🤘🏽😎🤘🏽
@@oldmanjimh3165its going to be awesome! I believe they’re either done writing the next album, or close to it. So, I’d anticipate it coming out some time next year.
