@@Pizzu2i just realised that.. this was realised in 1987, but it was written by a friend of the group years prior. Angels of passion with EKT was produced/released 1986
i came across this video while trying to look for an unidentified song called 'everyone knows that/ulterior motives', and boy am i glad i did! my search for this song has introduced me to so many great bangers like this!
another example of how talent, attitude, and style are not what it takes to be heard. distribution, management, promotion. sadly, this is the only way to reach your audience.
Imo, better than the actual Everyone Knows That, not because the current version of it we have now has "background noises" but because I think this just sounds generally cooler and better composition wise. 11/10, would listen again.
Dude, not the '90s, I directed this in '85! My boss, the great Phil Arnone, and I split directing duties in season 1 of Island Music, Island Hearts. What a trip it was: rehearsals in the afternoon, then I would go off and mark my scripts, which were lyric sheets, as I watched VHS tapes of rehearsal. The newscast ended at 6:30, and the terrific KGMB night shift would then have thirty minutes to move into concert mode. The audience filed in, and at 7PM, we were live. Total fun!
It’s not the “Everyone Knows That” song everyone was looking for (Carl92, lol 🤣🤣) but it’s a great song by its own rights. Glad I discovered BOTH “Everyone Knows That” songs. 😊
I can't believe a whole swath of old youtube videos got massive amounts of unrelated attention within the last year all because of a porn song. We live in the weirdest timeline.
ahhh thats is so sweet , you should treasure that memory he was a great singer i grew up listen to him during the 90's thanks to my mother she use to force me listening to oldies hehehe and i love it now .
I miss Mackey. He's the heart & soul of the best music that's truly Hawaiian. No one comes close. An original for all time. I visited Hawaii from California just to see & hear him live. A memory I will hold so long as I live. BRAVO!
We loved the pitch and rhythm to this song and most of all the togetherness Mackey and the boys jammed it with their enthusiasm. Just one of my favorites! ❤
Hmm, maybe the "everyone knows that" snippet that everyone is thinking about is just an earlier scraped version. That would be pretty cool, but unlikely
I truly feel like our lost song was a quick recording sample to work off of by someone writing songs. I also feel like this is the song said writers ended up with.
Mackey Feary had a fabulous sounding "trembling" vibrato which he rolled with notes, it had a shiny, tightly shimmering effect. It flowed off so smoothly, effortlessly. His singing voice; it was his natural speaking voice...that is the true hallmark of a genuine vocal artist moving out from their own signature. His was truly a great sound; somewhat sexy, and, totally vibrating with a kind of energy. His songs really just put people in a good mood. And, some songs, whew, geez, it made listeners feel like they themselves were at the top of their game. The top.
