All of you that are commenting negative on the way he's singing this raag.. if you can do better just not say anything and do a better job than him post a video if yourself in relate to this video so we can do a comparison and call you the names you are calling him..you all are entitled to your opinions but it's a lot easier to just make a negative comment..you all don't know shit about how he has put in a hard work in to learning this and tried to be like his dad and keep the family name going..but you all with one comment in a second putting him down.. don't be a hater just saying with much love :)
People who are expressing their opinions are not professional singers so you can't ask them to post their videos. The singer in the video is, on top of it, he is the son of Ustad Nazakat Ali Khan & has received training from him, therefore, he is held to a higher standard. Also, it doesn't help his cause that he is attempting a composition made famous by the sterling duo of Ustad Nazakat & Salamat Ali in their prime. Needless to say that it was very underwhelming presentation.

There are striking similarities between this guy and A.R.Rahman popular film music director in india.. their style, even the face and voice too. Yeah it's a soft raga , but I love the way he sings.. to me it's extraordinary.. simply superb..
Rafaqat Ali Khan is a very talented singer, and I enjoy listening to him, but he presented the khayal like Qawwali. Or probably he wanted to initiate a new genre of classical music.
Im listening classic music from last 7 year's. I have a daily routine to like 2 hour or more then that. I heard all the classical Ustads. I saw many peoples native comments. That is not good . I wanna say something to everyone's This guy is unique style of singing. Which I never heard on the all internet. So respect him not to disgrace of him. Thank you all music lover. Don't mind

He doesn’t have the temperament and the voice to sing this raga softly. This is who he is. It reflects poorly on your intelligence when you’re criticizing him given the sort of setting this is. He could’ve done better yes but his real quality is his voice and his riaz from childhood not khyaal gayeki or ghazal. Coke studio composers and directors did well utilizing his extraordinary and rare talent. I love Rafaqat. He’s naturally impatient like Ghulam Ali but their singing is completely different as is their voice.

He is gd artist..but only if he stops throwin violent fits...aftr every tan or tukda..he thinks he has achieved somthing too big..a since of som imposible achivmnt..whereas this expression should com from audiance at end of a chain of such tricks.as encore
I know that you are a son of Ustad Nazakat Ali Khan. However, please don't use his name along with yours. I have beautiful memories Ustad Nazakat & Salamat Ali singing this beautiful composition. They got tarnished by this presentation.

Although this guy is in flow, and have a bright future. But question is, where was Khyal or imagination? Here he has melodic line but no harmonic parts. He has not complied the framework of melodic rules. For me it was more Tarana.

he didn't do justice with such a beautiful raag. I don't understand y is he Screaming high. i heard kalavati sung by 1 and only nazakt ali, this is nothing in comparison to that.
This guy has talent but alas not groomed into tradition bound khayal singing and hence his singing sounds odd and rebellious. The pristine beauty of Kalavati Raga is missing.
