Not a Kaleidescape related question but love your in-wall set up. In our remodel we are doing something very similar but I was told that it is recommended that the L&R’s not share the same in wall air space as the sub. Do you have any issues or have you placed a divider in between the two in the wall?

Thanks! All my in-wall speakers and subs are sealed back, which is fine having them in the same stud space.

Hey love your content I just got my NZ900 installed and looking at the Strato V. What your thoughts on HDR10+. Will watching a 4K Disc playing HDR10+ look better than the V as it’s limited to HDR10. Thanks

The JVC NZ900 has great dynamic tone mapping built in. I'd take the conveniences and such of K over disc and HDR10+ any day. If you want to chat more on the V, reach out at jaremy@techthusiasm.net.

Have you tried hooking it through the processor? I have heard there have been issues with the certain hdr info not being passed through, when hooked this way.

So far, I have only been running the V straight to my LG television. I will get one to the home theater through my AVM 90 though when the theater is back online.

Where do you put the referral code? Is it during setup (on the UI itself) or is it linked to the email (confirmation email) which you receive during the setup process?

Referral codes get used when you register your account online after you have the hardware and are setting it up.

Hey Jaremy, great content. In the activation process to create an account, you mention to input your email address. What step is needed to input your referral code for the $100 matching store credit?

Hello. My activation was to an existing account. If you're setting up new for the first time, the process will be slightly different as you'll have register/authenticate email and set up your new profile and personal info. In those steps/forms, there is a place to enter a referral link that will redeem the $100 referral credit.

I know it doesn’t have CEC but do you know if that is a feature that can be added by firmware in the future or is that a hardware specific feature?

CEC is confirmed coming to the V on the development roadmap via software update.

Are all films available in SDR? For example The Revenent only says HDR when you search it. I don’t have the system yet I’m trying to confirm whether all these films support SDR. Thanks!

Yes, you can choose to download most everything in 4K SDR if you like.

Interestingly, neither of those titles allows a download in 4K SDR. 4K HDR10 is the only format. I feel like a lot of titles are 4K SDR, but not all.

Are you able to use an external USB blu ray drive to do “disc to digital” with the USB input on the Strato V? Website just shows the input is “reserved” and I cannot find any information on it.
