Ok, thanks for listing the specs but it's sitting right there, can you test it please? How loud can it go at 60, 50, 40 and 35Hz while remaining clear?
I don't believe you can balance RCA and that would be the main difference imo (not an expert) The RCA Jack's are there in case you wanted to hook up to a home theater system, which you could despite this being designed for studio use, it would still serve well as a home theater sub, especially since you can place it in the center. But aside from that or unless you are using an older DAW I don't believe there to be any reason to use RCA over XLR which can be balanced and are more resistant to interference from surrounding equipment.
Don't most earbuds do 20Hz do? :) Anyways, I was waiting for this sub to pair it with my LP-6 and was shocked by the price when it came out. It costs virtually the same as their bigger one, and that's too rich for my blood. I have no doubts it's a great sub but..
20hz earbuds? Dude, I am an audiophile newbie, and I have tinus from working with power tools. Earbuds and headphones are great for normal volume sound separation, but open backs can never replace low end reference over speakers and closed backs or earbuds etc. for anything like edm with lots of lows at high volume so you can "feel" the bass will give you tinus over time. Earbuds are the worse about that as they sit directly in your ear bypassing some of your natural sound protection. It's best imo to work with edm type of music or clean up lows on monitors and subs as that is when you can actually feel the bass without going deaf. Also, most bass heavy music will be played on speakers and subs anyway so referencing mixes on that would make more sense to me. I was looking for this excat type of sub, was close to pulling the trigger on the Focal sub that Kali is ripping off here, but it costs over 1k and is twice as big, this sub is excatly what I need and for half the price at half the size. I'm going to place this on a shelf at my standing desk with the port pointed right at my chest 😂 and it's perfect for that and earbuds will never give you good reference for lows that will most likely be played on car systems or club setups anyway. I went off on a little bit of a rant, but my point is, save your hearing! Trying to reference 20mhz low end with earbuds is going to make you go deaf sooner or later and won't give the same sound when played on speakers anyway. Just bite the bullet and get a sub, it don't have to be this one, ProSonus has a cheap one that's supposedly pretty good, buts it's way larger and at the end of the day the appeal of this sub is it's size and ability to sit anywhere, up against walls, a corner off to one side etc., without affecting its sonic profile, that's what this subs selling point is. If you don't need that then there is nothing wrong with getting a regular cheaper sub, but please move away from the earbuds young man, old you will thank you for it.
