Chiranjivi does not mean Amar (immortal)... nobody in this world is Amar except God. Charanjivi means one who lives for the time period of 7 Kalpas. Where 1 Kalpa is roughly equals 16 million years of earth. In ancient scriptures 7 Kalpa is called 'Chira'. So, Chiranjivi although practically may be considered immortal in comparison to our small lifespan, they are not actually immortals.😊
