I see a lot of misunderstandings about Inosanto and Lee. Lee went to university and Inosanto taught there as a professor. Inosanto was Lee's teacher. Lee developed JunFan then when he met Inosanto he was convinced there was more to combat martial arts and he asked Inosanto to help him develop Jeet Kun Do which is intercepting boxing not defending or offensive but rather focused on the common trapping in FMA and wushu especially wingchun. He learned the nunchuk from FMA not karate.

A lot of these parries, traps and throws are found more commonly in Indonesian Silat systems like Cimande, Sera, Harimau and others. This comes from Guro Dan Inosantos Maphilindo Silat system - MAlaysian PHILippine INDOnesian Silat - get it?

But then again you Saenchai do a wheel kick that looks like capoeira or Capoeira fighter doing KO with their finishing kicks. Then you got wing chun eyes jabs but then they banned it from the UCF. Then you got Machida pulling off a karate crane kick. i feel the person is ignorant to learn what figher doesn't know.
The” stick part” of Kali Is the entry-level stuff. Unlike other Asian martial arts were weapons Our Taught last and to the ADVANCE students, in the Filipino martial arts you start out using the stick. From there you learn the different applications using the knife swords machetes nunchucks and staff. There’s also the Empty hands component which has grappling also. Comparatively speaking it is also in my opinion one of the most user-friendly arts out there. The movements just seem right and natural and that’s the beauty of it you’re not forcing your body to do something unnatural like standing a horse stance I’m doing the various Karate style blocks
This is mostly silat mixed with FMA notice the words Hari Mau... Kari -Indonesian not Tagalog but there is so much similarity. You can see the combination with Dumag /Dumpog --LETHAL

I can tell that he’s done a lot of training with Danny Innosanto because sometimes his phrasing cadence and voice inflections literally sounds like Innosanto talking!
Depends how much you practice, the execution, what position you are in. You know. Fight stuff. Plus which move you like most. Then again, the beginning counters are only four. Beginning wise I mean.
of the 3, split entry is the hardest because you have a tight angle to both deflect the initial punch and perform your own strike. Inside is good because it provides a lot of targets for you to hit but you have to check that back hand fast to avoid getting hit by the cross. Outside is the safest because you take a superior angle that the enemy has to step out of in order to hit you back and that takes a split second that allows you to strike 1-2 times before he can reposition. i take outside every time i can get it.

This is Ron Balicki, a long time student of Dan Inosanto. He is teaching Maphilindo Silat and Filipino martial arts. You have an excellent Silat teacher in the UK named Alvin Guinanao. His style is different but still very effective.
The Filipino martial arts are into disorienting you and putting you into traction quick fast. I remember a self-defense situation where I got attacked in the subway within seconds I Parry the guys punch did a series of slabs on him and he jumped back startled thinking that I had shot him it was hard to keep my composure because I wanted to laugh at his reaction he got so scared he stopped the fight instantlyAnd started jumping up and down threatening me not to come back tomorrow or he’d have his gun I’m just saying this to point out that These techniques do work in real time I know it because I done it
