Alan Watts expressed his opinion on psychedelics with 'Once you get the message, hang up the phone', meaning after getting a taste of the divine, pursue it by means other than psychedelics. Another experienced psychedelic user, Terrance McKenna, told me shortly before his death that he would not suggest their use for spiritual endeavors, despite his many trips. That may be because the fruits of the experiences were not maintained. In my own experience, experiences through meditation far exceeded those from psychedelics.
A Swami of the Ramakrishna order once mentioned that Nati Binodini was extremely beautiful and fair-skinned. (Btw I'm not equating one with the other). That's why she was able to get away with the European act.
In regards to psychedelics, anything spoken about without conviction and experience can be very faulty. I think Swami should say an honest I don’t know as he speaks as an authority as part of an order and has a responsibility for honesty
