people not knowing that Eing while Q is midair will proc stacks even if the enemy doesn't have any is such a disadvantage for new kalista players. you can auto Q E and it will deal so much more dmg, but people just never make it a known fact, glad you brought it up. also you missed that kalista's auto's E proc works like Q's, aka mid air auto will proc E once it lands if you've cast it beforehand, and that kalista jumps further backwards and the tier of boots affect her jump distance (which was irrelevant till riot brought new shoes in) overall good and short video explaining the champ pretty well

Hi! OTP kalista for a few years here (tho low elo, emerald, so all of what I'll say can be comprehensibly taken as trash), I loved ur video and want to talk a lil abt my current approach to the champ (DON'T take any of the following as valid on the new split, I haven't tried shit). Generally love the champ and it's playability, I play it mostly as ADC with the normal build but what i've found the most fun in lately is in full lethality supp, specifically with certain early explosive dmg adcs. The best one so far and the one I've played the most with is AP twitch, which sounds kinda weird but allows u to make the most fucking unfair cheese lv1 with both stacking nukes on the E of both champs with hell of blades, the other interesting stuff is the build: Lethality in general but make sure to get axiom arc as ur ult is extremely good to disengage or save ur adc generally and (personal take) Solstice Slaigh to get more engage using the E slow. Out of that, u play to poke half the adc's hp in lane from just landing ur Q E with one item and the playstyle I've found the most fun is: Inting. U get ur Q, hell of blades, E on any champ and let ur adc finish it, if u have no R it generally doesn't matter in a TF as u won't do much more and u're basically trading a 1x1 but u revive faster and give less gold cuz u inted most of the game, and if u're chasing/ambushing i'ts a oneshot.
You covered it (kind of?) in the section about standing still, but I'm not sure if kalista still loses dps by hopping in general, aside from doing it while slowed. I'm not sure if it's been "fixed" but i still play her and i think it's just a feature at this point
She loses the DPS when the attack speed is above 1.7 and you jump, because the animation has limited speed. You only dont lose the dps when you drift but without LT its not even worth trying
how the builds change with the recent changes? i was using your playstyle guide but idk how to build properly cuz im new to her. i usually go hubris->collector->runaan/ie->ie/runaan or botrk->guinsoo->runaan
I will make a new item guide soon, but for now hubris is not as good, jist because crit has become much stronger (that, and its more consistent, if yoi go hubris and dont get lead you are useless) And for the PTA build, been testing guinsoo into hurri into BT and it seems to be good for now
@@Lucas-nj1fs yea bork is most likely dead, it might still be decent against VERY tanky comps, but in most cases its just not nearly as good (especially with ldr increased armor pen)

@@Lucas-nj1fs lethality kalista still works, but as always its situational vs on hit. You can also go either full crit, or mix of crit with lethality, those seem to work similarly to how it did before

I just didnt jump there, but if you get taunted/feared mid-jump, you can actually do ignore those, and jump towards enemy while feared for example. And yes, double rend is still a thing, but I dont remember if it deals the base damage twice or not
@@yuzuu1337 thats insane, i had no idea o.o learning kalista so this is very helpful also, i think it does double base if you time it right and are at least a certain distance away from the target
Heh... keria kalista jg 15 sec full clear 1v5 penta... And for those who think kalista support is a bait, i reached gold just playing her... Also funni thing i discovered; kalista's ult can cleanse you from urgot's r pull... I literally have this fucking clipped. The highest multiple kill i've gotten is a quadra... good for when your adc is a useless carried in lane mutt that you surely won't outdps by 45k dmg while 3k g behind ( this happens much more commonly than people think KEK ). And honestly w is so underrated that when you go w lvl2 and you chunk off 1/3 of their hp if you get to double rend it... don't just ignore w but also don't level it up if you have a braindead mage support "smash it's keyboard penta" player Also... yuzuu i have to ask something... Are the yun blades runnan crit worth it? ( the funny old draven passive turned into an item plus runnan ) Also... rip drifting kalista...
@@yuzuu1337 i knew botrk was dead the moment i saw the 6% current hp dmg honestly... Even w better base stats that -3% hits harder than anything... Btw... opinions on KS? I think it's mid but some people seem to prefer it if you start the fight w a prepared buffed aa then PTA...
@@poutykeiki2574 I tried kraken few games as a rush item, but its just plain bad. The stats are good but since kalista finishes off low hp targets, you dont utilizatie it as well as other champs. Also the same reason bork was always good on her
I just played with a Kalista for the first time (I'm a supp) and I am still a lil confused on what that connective tissue/strand/leash does and how to navigate her ult. She asked whether to spear me or our jg at the beginning and I was like..."ummm up to you" because I had no idea what that meant. :( and then her ult was disorienting and I feel bad I think I messed it up. When she ults what do I do/press? I feel like I'm supposed to face a certain way too. Can you explain it like I'm 8 years old? Pretty please? I want to be a better supp :(
if she spears you, you do the funny damage if you attack the same target with auto attacks (you can see the mark on enemy), and when she ults you, you basically yeet yourself with left click into enemy team doing 0 dmg malphite ult on them, or just run away if you think its a mentally ill call to go in

Ah you mean drifting? It doesnt reallly have any actual use in game, mainly because of slows, mediocre itemization (especially after removal of LT) and inconsistency. I've made a short about that, and many other tricks on kalista, but tldr you have to attack standing for a moment, and then right click to the rythm. If you are fast enough you can also do it with left click right click, but yea its not very consistent trick
