My one problem with the cinematic is why Ledros' Sword doesn't Break in his last rampage, that's his main trait in LOR, and I always found it really cool how he held half a broken sword that was completed by a ghosty sword.
Hecarim killed Kalista, massacared everyone in the blessed isles, helped Viego start a world ending magical ruination just so he can have a more intimidating evil laugh.
Sound design can really make or break a scene! When Kallista is losing the light in her eyes and tipping over to hit the ground, there was just the faintest and slightly miss-timed clank of her armor brushing floor. It almost looked like she was going to bed in a daze, rather than... you know... dramatically dying alongside her lover after being betrayed. The impact of the scene had more potential. I'm glad you're pointing out the poor sound design choices in these cinematics, because we all know that Riot can do better! I hope they will in the future because I absolutely live the short-form visual storytelling Wild Rift has given us
This is riot giving opportunity to all those amateur voice actors and sound engineers to take this cinemática and improve it on how they think is should be. Like those books of how you wanna the story goes?
I know the community likes poking fun how you can make ## min video from a quick clip the riot drops, but I love that you do and can. I really like the lore of league and love how you point out sooo much details from riot's video that expands the lore and gives 1 min video so much meaning. I am surprised that riot does not have you on as a consultant at this point in order to keep their lore story tell in line.
Love whenever you talk about Wild Rift, my favorite game in the world. Also love that you use Wild Rift backgrounds as your backgrounds. Keep the awesome vids coming!
In the vladimir cinematic they couldve just made the armor... not make any sound? It wouldve been SO much better, the bsckground music wouldve carried it, i dont get why they chose to have bad SFX direction
I think this is a cut cinematic because is a login screen animation like the first one, so they will probably release the real one in the end of the event.
just FYI you're getting a bit of greenscreen glow/bleed on you in this video. Not sure if your lighting needs some repositioning/adjusting, or if you're just a bit too close to it in this one. Its just a slight bit distracting 😅 Just a small thing, but thanks for another great video, necrit!!!
Seeing RIOT okay with this cinematic ( not just the hecarim laugh) but the cutscene like scene, and overall cinematography, I'm worry about ARCANE, I know that fortiche will handle arcane buuut .....
Regarding the sound it is extremely simple: The terrible sound design is there to make sure that everyone understands/remembers that this is after all, just for a mobile game. Have you ever seen mobile games or other shovelware? They all do exactly the same
I will point out that in the Vladimir cinematic in the beginning you can hear Vlad whistling and it sounds like the main theme for the game but i could be wrong
I would prefer to have just music playing during the cinematics over what they've done. I'm glad I am not the only person who feels like the audio is always a miss
I kind of hate that they dont show us blood and the things behind it. ITs such a core part of what is happening there. It feels kind of goofy without it and I hate it. Cause Runeterra can be such a dark place, but we almost never see it.
Because those kind of things drive up the age rating which heavily restricts where and to whom it can be shown. It's like how RU-vidrs can't really swear in the first minute or so of videos because otherwise they'll be demonetized and have the video hidden by the algorithm.
@@leetri Yeah, i feel like, people then to forget that that league's intended audience isn't just filled with people who want to see blood and gore all the time and not everything needs to be graphically shown because the fact is, the implication is clear, sis got stabbed in back, Ledro got jumped, it's incredibly clear.
Necrit (and community): have you tried the kalista game mode? I played a few games of it and I like to believe that this event was their first test for what will eventually become the new "vampire survivor-like" game mode on LOL PC. What do you think?
I think "He who shall not be named" refers to someone else... I believe their summoning chant goes "So there's this thing called animating on Ones and Twos..."
Damn…I always though Kalista was this like evil vengeful being, but now that I know what happened it just makes me so sad. Hecarim was already a D before becoming the Hecarim we know
Why wouldn't they just use the sounds from their own damn game? They could use Heccarim's in-game laugh without the ghost filter, Vlad's transfusion noises, or his pool noises. At this point I'm convinced Riot is so hell bent on selling Wild Rift as the premiere League of Legends game they have straight up forgotten their PC game even exists...
I'm a total noob with the lore so my opinion really doesn't matter but when Kalista came out (well besides everyone thinking she was going to be Senna) I thought the betrayal was going to be a lot more personal
You can tell they strangled the animators with a one-minute runtime for an extremely important scene. They are trying, but they are forced to make it fast paced and unnatural, which paired with the audio makes the entire thing look like the average cheap mobile ad
So, sound is an interesting thing. Just like voices each region having to localize so that people in that region believe characterization, so is sound. The sounds we expect to hear for something in the US is vastly different from England, which is different from any country in Central or South America, which is different from China, Korea, or Japan. The further back you go in finding a sound catalog the more people in the world that would recognize it, and the less licensing is required, because each country has that too. All in all it probably is the best course to get around everything without causing a stir and everyone knowing the intentions.
I love the long videos with all your opinions, hope you don't take people's comments about how long your videos are as negative criticism, it's just a joke 😭
Yes, i also disapoint in that sense too. Those laugh must be cover in some raw magic stuff that ruin human body but also gave them more power grown in time, the one that have enough weight to get over the loyalty. Even it's sound like a loser creep win it prize but with some toon with became like host of abomination, ready to un-fresh. I was expect of that, but they just brought the samething.
I dont mind the stock sounds because the music does everything the potential effort sounds would have. (Except for the silly hecarim laugh. I agree with you on that.) But take the vlad example you had: the mania the music induced along with the visual was enough to fill in the horrific screams that would be there. And without the stock screams, the music feels more enriched.
