In the 'Kalki Puran' it is written that there's 7 immortals waiting for the Kalki avatar, Ashwatthama being one of them. Each one of them will make Kalki prepare for the war against Kali. The guru and mentor of the Kalki will be the immortal 6th avatar of Vishnu - Parashurama

First hr was really doozy for me until Amitabh Bachchan ( Aswathama ) introduced , he was perfect in this role

If one can overcome the two inch subtitle wall, then there is whole other world of entertainment out there that opens up!

The world building of the first half was beautiful and the second half was on fire. The way the movie introduced multiple characters and fleshing them out is marvelous. Edit: The filming of Kalki eas before Dune 1. But due to covid it got dragged.

Hi, I liked your review, felt genuine, could relate to most of the issues you raised. Just FYI Ashwatthama or even Karna who is Bhairava's previous incarnation are not old gods or any gods. They are more Demi godesque characters. The only actual god in the entire movie was Krishna (an avatar of Mahavishnu from the previous epoch/age) and the not yet born avatar of Mahavishnu of this epoch Kalki. Also the filmmakers took some liberty even with the story part of the mythology. Ashwatthamaa became an immortal only due to the effect of the curse from lord Krishna. Also he is supposed to be just one of the 7 immortals other than gods. Hopefully will see a few of them in the upcoming installments.

Ashawathama is not God, he is just an ancient warrior who was cursed with immortality by an avatar of God ( whose face they didn't show). Bhairava is reincarnation of Karna, who also a powerful ancient warrior (not a god), he was born with golden earrings and a impenetrable shield chest plate. Ashawathama has a stone on his forehead which gives him infinite stamina and super health. THEY ARE NOT GODS. Just ancient super powerful warriors. Although The director has taken creative liberty with the reincarnation of Karna( bhairava),as it is not mentioned in scriptures.

Nagi mixed our history with folklore with many cultural references + predicted future . Even the future is predicted and written for us in Kalki puranam, Bhavishya Puranam But you all can still understand the movie as there’s a lot of lines Star Warsie. Since I consumed all our Bharath Stories + original Ramayanam and Mahabharatham + Star Wars ( along with clone wars, rebel and other spin-offs) + Marvel ( along with spin-offs in Tv )+ DC + Rick Riordan books + Stephen King ( Dark Towers ) And the core for all of these is usually not so different 😊😊

Have you heard of Sardar Udham film?? It is a must must watch. Arguably the best Indian movie ever made in recent times. Just watch it guys.

First part seems like mostly for telugu people Cause we get to see previous references, mannerisms we were missing , but yeah, they could have edited it more tightly Do watch the Amazon Prime Bujji and Bhairava animated series . It’s fun

Naga Ashwin has said that he is happy to take the criticism of the 10 minutes that people found boring for the 250 minutes that people loved. It is his first big movie. So Kalki 2 would even more perfected.

minimum 100 movies he can make with this plot , that's we are really into this, story still in the indian methology, how he gonna play out, that's the curiosity we have

1) The city is Kashi it's in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh India, which is the Oldest and technically the 1st City of this world and going to be the last. 2) That opposite Pyramid shape thing is "Complex" there is no water left in the world except for Complex and it's beautiful from inside having trees and fountains and all. The main leader of Complex treats himself as a god is "Supreme Yaasin". 3) Kalki Avatar has not been born yet he's inside Deepika Padukone's womb, her name is Sau 80 (in Mahabharat mother of Kalki is Saumati and Lord Vishnu). 4) Prabhas as Bhairava is a Bounty hunter and he needs 1 million Units to live in Complex (Only Rich people can live in Complex) also Unit is the Measuring unit for the source of power to run the Nano technology they are using to run the weapons and the world (Unit is like Money 💰 for them). 5) As per Mahabharat we are in Kaliyuga and this movie is the end of this world Kaliyuga and a new world will start from here as Satayuga. 6) Ashwathama cursed by Lord Krishna and snatched his stone (Power source) during Mahabharat because he tried to unalive a pregnant women but in this movie by the end of Kaliyuga he got his stone back and he will save Sau 80 because she is going to give birth Kalki. 7) Bujji the A.I informed Prabhas aka Bhairava that a 5 star ⭐ bounty of 1 Million units can be received whomsoever catches Sau 80. So, Prabhas tries to catch Sau 80 to receive bounty to live in Complex and Ashwathama is trying to save Sau 80 and Kalki in her womb.

We do have martial arts called Karalipayattu lesser known in India.

If yall wanna get into more telugu movies watch bahubali 1&2 , it stars prabhas and director is ss rajamouli who directed RRR.

Only 40% of the story is in this part of movie. Rest 60% of the story will be in next part. If you are not watched Baahubali or RRR you missed a lot in Indian movies.

The characters had special equipments and gadgets for fights...so those gadgets make you jump or rotate and do all those gravity defying fights. So all those makes sense at least in this movie

This is our History. Ithihasa- meaning history, the same source for the histories of Maurya and Gupta dynasties-- which is the purana. If you think this is myth them you must dismiss Maurya and Gupta too since they are from the same sources -- the puranas-- in which the Mahabharatha is also mentioned. The British Christian rulers called it Mythology since they couldnt digest anything other than the Bible. So dont do that. Its Not Folklore. Whether you believe it or not.

Aswatama isnt a God 😂 he was known as a villian in the pervious yuga for killing the Pandava children he is cursed by God to live forever with his wounds festering until he will get his chance at redemption when Kalki is born

Aswatama and Karna are not brothers they fought aginst the padavas anf God in Dwarpar Yuga

Karna wasn't Ashwatthamas brother, he was a friend. According to mythology Karna doesn't have any reincarnation, it was movie built
