Haha. You said it 2 years ago.... Last year Kalle raced in Latvian main series since he was too young to compete in finlands main series. He won the latvian main series. Now he drove his first main series rally in finland. And won it. By far. Even lost a tire at one point, but no matter. He is 16 now and the youngest driver in finlands main series ever.
no the curve is like this: age 0, we learn to talk, age 1 walk, age 2 ride a bicycle, age 3 a small automatic moped, age 4 a bigger manual speed moped, age 5 80cc+ illegally tuned moped, age 6 first "field" car, age 7 a faster and lighter "field" car, age 8 a real rally car from the lowest brackets of rally series bought as used, age 9 even more faster and lighter from some of the more advanced rally series, and finally at age 10, we can pick what ever we like from 500hp+ to start practice for rally or formula, what ever our fathers have picked us before conceiving us. by the age of 15 we have multiple throphies of winning finnish and europe races and then we see if the alcohol and women or rally/formula will take over, as in finland, its one of those 2.
Ei tartte Kallen aikanaan autokoulussa ajohallintalaitteita paljoa opetella. Liikennesäännöt yms on sitten toinen juttu.
Jesus! Give credit where it's due. This kid impressed the heck out of me at 8 years old,by driving a small saloon over an ice and snow covered course. He will be a WRC someday. That is raw talent however you slice it....whether he has access to rally cars or not.
Yes! Scariest think is to not have any control at all. You just have to trust your life on someone elses hands. I would be dead scared to be passenger in that car.
Wait a minute..I remember playing WRC on psp and Rovanpera was a driver there if he was 13 in 2014 this means that he was 8 and driving profesionally.Damn*sarcasm*But seriously is his dad or something a pro racer?
That poor lady. I do not know what she thought would happen getting into a rally car with a 13yo .... with him driving!!! And I'm sure he was not at full tilt. Congrats to Kalle!!!!!
This lady was actually very brave. When the former F1 stars (D. Coulthard & M. Häkkinen) who were used to fast speed were riding Kalle 10 years later, they hardly dared to look in the direction of travel.
This is how you become a star, have someone to start you off early, by the time you are old enough to compete you will blow everyone away. And to have a pro as a father to teach you. Ya, bit of an advantage. #jealous lol
When I was 13 I drove Helkama bicycle.. I hope the kid appreaciates the chance he has in life. And if you think why she acts like that, looks like to me she is hyperventilating for fear / excitement.
Not so far. And Petter won championship while Richard Burns fell to brain tymor. Not trying to diss Solbergs in anyway, they are great drivers in RX and Petter never got a good team leader status. Rallying has always been about team seat.
