Kamala Harris finally did her first post-debate interview and got asked preverbal softball questions about GUNS and to expound on her saying she was a gun owner during the debate.
Harris responded with "I am a gun owner and Tim Walz, my running mate, is also a gun owner. We're not taking anyone's guns away. I support the Second Amendment and I support reasonable gun safety laws," Harris said.
"I feel very strongly that it is consistent with the Second Amendment and your right to own a gun to also say we need an assault weapons ban. They're literally tools of war," Harris continued. "I say we need universal background checks. The majority of NRA members support that. Why? It's just reasonable. You just might want to know."
What she didn't mention is that all of these United States government agencies who are not at war have these types of rifles, but somehow when they're in the hands of Citizens, they magically morph into "Tools of WAR" designed "to kill a lot of people quickly."
Now don't think for one second that the irony is lost on me that Kamala began by saying she supports the Second Amendent and then the very next thing out of her mouth is proposing a law that literally violates the Second Amendment.
Kamala Harris doesn't get to decide what does and doesn't violate the Second Amendment any more than when she was a prosecutor having a criminal tell her which of their criminal actions does and doesn't violate the law.
That's not how the constitution works.

The 2nd Amendment is about the citizens--"state of the nature" by John Locke--having the power--Mao Zedong said that "political power grows out of the barrel of a gun": sounds like a paraphrased of the 2nd Amendment. Logically any arms--knives, howitzers, etc. if a person can afford it, he has the rights, since it can be used to check the government.

If the 2nd amendment wasn't blatantly disregarded by our politicians, we'd be allowed to own any firearm we so choose, military grade or not, including M61 or M134 Gatling/miniguns.

Muskets were "tools of war" back in the day. The fact something is useful in war does not mean citizens should not have it, it infact means the very opposite. The entire point of the 2nd A is a check and balance against a tyrannical government (It literally says that). Whatever weapons the gov has and can use against it's citizens are fair game for citizens to have and use against its government when faced with tyranny.

A semi-auto rifle by definition is not an assault rifle. This includes ARs and AKs that aren't full auto. An assault rifle is a magazine fed, full auto rifle. Does she know why knives were invented? Sledge hammers, crow bars, chainsaws…a lot of tools been used to kill. She knows guns weren’t the only weapon invented to kill. She wants the fearful to forget they are used to preserve it life. She wants people think as victims. That if she doesn’t ban them then one day they’ll be shot. They’re also using that made up term (assault weapons) to come after ALL semi auto firearms.

Your personal wealth has no bearing on your education or your morals. Many evil people are rich and many good people are poor.
