I checked out Conception. Thank you for sharing but personally I felt his vocals are not as strong. Kamelot was meant for Kahn and Kahn alone.

Kamelot does best live! This concert and the new one at the same place with that boy-band type from sweden.

​@@KlangenIf you haven't listened to Tommy in Seventh Wonder, you really should. Try "The Light" or "The Angelmaker" or "Break the Silence" or "Banish The Wicked". Or all of them.

One thing I would love is if they would re-release Karma, Epica and The Black Halo with a stronger mix on the kick drums and bass guitar. I guess I would also throw Silverthorn in for boosting the kick drums. Bass guitar sound is high enough in silverthorn as it drowns the low frequencies of the kick sometimes. I can barely hear them in Karma with a 12" subwoofer behind my seat.

@@senditkevin I disagree with Epica. Epica has a pretty prominent bass guitar presence

I just wish they would play it live again...or any of The Fourth Legacy. None of those songs are performed any more and I know Tommy has the range for them.

@@thomasgriffith3949 I've never listened to Tommy getting such notes live, I think not even recorded... Even if he could, I think he lacks the theatricality a Song as 'Elizabeth" recquires, so it could be the reason... I don't know, I'm just guessing, they must have a reason... Perhaps they want to leave those masterpieces untouched, there are a couple other iconic Khan songs that Tommy hasn't ever performed (at least that I know).

Regarding his voice Roy Khan had, in his past, years of classical studies and you can clearly hear that in this video ... he is an extraordinary singer, probably the best singer metal has ever had ....

@@MassimoOmeri beyond the technical aspects, he also had emotionality that he poured into each phrase. Listen to how Elizabeth pleads to the mirror at first, then becomes a complete fiend at the end.

+GoPro Dog yeaah unfortunately he left Kamelotdue to some health issues in 2012 at least that's what he claimed .....I do hope he will return someday though.He's a very gifted singer of our generation....

Shawn Millender I fairly positive that's Mari Youngblood, the guitarists wife anyway... so it's not really that big of a deal.

He doesn't sing, he tells a story.

Tyde To put it a bit differently, he of course sings but he's also going through all the emotions the song is conveying. Not many singers can do that. Apart from his awesome voice (top 3 singers ever in my book), that was something that really made him stand out. He also (co-)wrote a lot of the great lyrics for Kamelot.

That's the best example of Roy's epicness - his live versions of songs sound way more incredible that studio ones. "Memento Mori" in Belgrade live video makes me cry every time...

Hands down much more better than the studio version. This is the moment of glory for Roy!

Actually they are very similar. In 70s, Queen´s sound was very heavy and in their concerts they seemed a pure heavy metal band and freddie´s voice had little (proto) grouls mixed with his powerfull voice. Search FLICK OF THE WRIST live at rainbow 74. Roy and Freddie are my favorites singers.

Funny, "comparing" him to Freddie was the first thing I did when I watched this video

@FatalPies you're right, again. Freddie is much better, that's why Tate can't sing Queen songs and he tried (Somebody to Love and Innuendo, the later was especially awful)

don't get me started. When I and some metalhead friends of mine discovered Kamelot is going to play our country for the first time, I bought the tickets immediately. It was my fav metal band growing up. Month before the concert, Roy departed. We still went to the concert, Tommy was there, alas, our hearts were broken. There was a non VIP meet and greet with the bands, we got ours photos taken, the concert was great but it was literally the 1st or 2nd concert with Tommy.

+19Imperial88 My dad went to this concert. I feel really bad because I started listening to Kamelot once Khan left and I didn't listen to their older stuff (pre-Ghost Opera. yeah, i know.) But as I've gotten older, I've grown to love all of their albums. Even the ones with Vanderbilt on the vocals.
