One thing I liked about Zi-O's gimmick item was that it was the only one that gave Amazons some rep with Alfa, Omega, and Neo getting watches

From the big 3 tokus, I honestly think KR does it best when it comes to honoring past riders. Sentai is fun but sometimes the connection ain't strong enough. Ultra is the complete opposite as they rely too much on past ultras. Almost every single modern ultra past zero uses gimmicks that combines past ultra's powers. It's too much for every season honestly.

I know this video is about legend rider forms specifically, but I want to mention the legend rider chemies themselves. I really like the chemy reimaginings of the various legend riders that are cute, go along with the main chemies in Gotchard, and embody the riders they represent

6:15 fun fact if you placed the legend fullbottles into the evol driver you would get to hear it announce thier final forms instead of their regular forms, i tested this with a ex-aid fullbottle and it announced "muteki gamer" and it even did the whole hyper muteki song as well

You've finally talked about my MOST FAVORITE subject! 😆👏 Ever since I became a Kamen Rider Decade fan, I've made it my mission to like, or rather love EVERY SINGLE Legend Rider crossover gimmick as my kind of niche, as well as study their various applications in each and every Kamen Rider series throughout the history. I see that you've already covered up pretty much all of the necessary essentials for this subject. While I also understand that you might had exclude some, I think I'll add my thoughts here, as well. You see, other than Revice's own gimmick, the Reiwa Rider era has seen MANY unique instances of crossover gimmicks, such as: - Saber Ghost Ijinroku and Specter Gekikou Senki as crossover forms to feature Heisei Riders instead of their direct predecessor (Zero-One) and both Saber and Ghost are written by the same person lol 😂 - Saber Super Hero Senki as the first crossover form of Kamen Rider and Super Sentai in the history - Revice's DGP forms (Revi Beat and Vice Monster) as first Kamen Riders who use their successor's Henshin items - Buffa Ouja Form being made outside of Desire Driver's existing sound system - Tycoon Shinobi Form as the first Reiwa Rider who uses an alternate timeline Rider power (Shinobi from Geiz's alternate timeline) - Zein, while using past Rider weapons and abilities instead of forms, being a Kamen Rider who uses 2 GIMMICKS AT ONCE, both are from Kamen Rider series that had long since ended (Progrise Key and Rider Cards) and it's created by George Karizaki from yet another anniversary season (Revice) Moving on, my main highlight of the Heisei Riders' Legend Rider gimmick is Kamen Rider Fifteen from the Heisei vs Showa movie that aired during Gaim's run. I love him bc of the unique position he's in, being a non-mainstream Rider who MAINLY uses Legend Rider crossover forms in a non-anniversary run unlike Decade or Zi-O. One thing that we should take notice is that Fifteen appeared 5 YEARS after Kamen Rider Decade ended, and that Kamen Rider Zi-O had existed 10 YEARS after Decade ended. If we look closely, both Fifteen and Zi-O have many parallels and similarities to each other: - Visually, their suits are dominantly black with a katakana ornament on their helmets and their forms are basically armor add-ons on top of their base suits - Conceptually, both Riders entertain the idea of an "evil Decade", as well as further expansions of Legend Rider gimmicks in the future - Narratively, both are warriors who fought against the inevitable: Fifteen fought against his son's death, and Zi-O fought against his destiny of becoming Ohma Zi-O. Now let's fast forward to 15 YEARS after Decade ended, where now we have Kamen Rider Legend and Kamen Rider Zein as crossover gimmick users. Yet, these Riders also offer us with interesting parallels to one another. Notice how both of these Riders are card users: Legend is basically a Decade fanboy with Ride Chemy Cards and Zein uses his own set of Rider Cards. See the pattern here? If Kamen Rider Fifteen is how we got to Kamen Rider Zi-O, then I believe Kamen Riders Legend and Zein are the KEY TO PREDICT how the 10th Reiwa Rider would turn out to be. Mind you, it might not be 100% accurate, but the parallels could still be there for us to witness. And let's not forget, the 10th Reiwa Rider would also mark both the 10th anniversary for Zi-O and more importantly, the 20th anniversary for Decade. Speaking of Decade, I firmly believe that he would still receive many future updates for his Decadriver system, even further than his recent Neo Decadriver. If the CSM Decadriver 2.0 is of any indication, Decade would serve as a library for Kamen Rider henshin sounds, what with his additional extra card sets and all that. Maybe even a CSM Neo Decadriver could still be a possibility in the future. That's why I'm looking forward to see if we might receive further updates for Decade, especially with the existence of both Legend and Zein in his current 15th anniversary, as well as his upcoming 20th anniversary. 😁

In defense of Revice and Zi-O's designs being super busy to the point of bordering on clunky: shut up, it's fun /lh

For me, my favorite remains Decade. Yes it's simple and doesn't offer much. But it is in the truest sense, legend forms. You yourself become the legend. You yourself use the same forms and the same moves they did. Plus I really like that with Decade Complete, the Riders are summoned to perform the exact same final attacks as you. Now it's you standing next to a legend and working with them. Which imo is really cool.

There are at least two big names from the Kamen Rider series that I know of that honor their predecessors and their course is Decade (Heisei era) and Zi-O (Neo-Heisei era). Then there’s the new upstart there recently appeared in gotchard called Kamen Rider legend, but what’s interesting about the other two riders that I mentioned is the fact if a new Rider appears They automatically gain their power in fact this is become almost a trend with some of the Riders themselves for example in certain Kamen Rider specials that they show most of the Riders have their predecessors powers to deal with a certain situation from zero-one to saber to revice, to geats and now gotchard. The differents with gotchard though is that he uses the rider chemy card to fuse both rider powers together.

It should be noted that we didn't see a bunch of other Zi-o Armors due to Budget( Pretty much??) And seeing them in concept art Those would have been cool As for my favorite Concept forms It goes to Agito, Ryuki and Kiva For ones we do see in show My Fav is Kuuga Especially since the Kuuga armor isn't busy

Ridewatchs are basically Ranger keys for kamen rider when Sougos holding the Kiva or Decade watch he's holding the same exact power and legacy of Wataru and Tsukasa just for exsample and that's why ridewatches are my favorite gimmick

not all legend riders gimmicks are made equal, but decade really rewrote the book on how to do anniversary power. so we can still blame him! a big thing is how the gimmick is designed. one is "single legend component", like geats, tecnically fourze and OOO, and theoretically drive; or when it is 'semi/full-body rework' as it's for ghost, ex-aid and gaim build had a few development problem, which isn't really talk about, the christmas bottle being rolled over the straight dx release being the main victim, as some of the other bottles never released in any form. legend rider being somewhat downgraded straight into 'decade light', so close to what the following season would be, makes a lot of unfortunate sense drive was basically stolen of it's legend riders content, given how gambarizing inclusion in full only started AFTER the end of the serie... also, kamen rider Legend tryhard-ness and fanfic-feel are just perfect once it's explained who Legend really is, honestly

Ghost's Legend Rider form and Gimmick are my favorites because they fit with the idea Ghost's gimmick as the Eyecons use the power of figures from history and legends

I really like the legend rider gimmick. However I want to point out kamen rider gaim, ghost, and zi-o. Why those series? Because gaim have a drive lockseed, ghost have a ex-aid eyecon and zi-o have not one but two updated riderwatch. Zero one riderwatch and saber riderwatch. I like how they use a new series item in a previous henshin device. Yeah sometimes the sounds isn’t that interesting but seeing it v cinema or in movie. I love the armor design.

legend rider gimmicks in kamen rider are like side dishes, sure the main food is good but side dishes bring their own flair to the experience

To me Kamen rider got one of the best legacy form but have the worst when it come to actually treating their old legacy show with respect out of big 3 toku like when J just became big giant jober in every screen he appears and also the nasty Showa rider treatment in Showa vs Heisei movie sometimes it feels like toei even forget they have Showa rider other than the original and black At least Sentai and Ultraman do give a shine to the old hero especially when they have the actors also come back

i disagree about ex aids helment, the visors keep it from just straight up being that rider itself, only a few i can see didnt work well, but the ones they showcased in film (Ghost, Drive, Gaim, Wizard) i think work well and in some parts id argue look better
