I like that the phyrexians are now aware of Emrakul’s presence in the moon. That’s…that’s real neat.

That ending with Tamiyo is such a gut punch, she was my favourite planeswalker, and one of the few planeswalkers that didn't cause a major tragedy that we know of. Although hinting that the three scrolls might actually get properly used in the future does seem intriguing. The return of the Wanderer and filling out her backstory is quite nice, I've always found her to be an interesting character and wanted to see more of her outside of WotS. I originally thought that they were setting up for Himoto being controlled by Tezzeret to disrupt Kaito, since they put so much emphasis on both that kami being special, as well as the dangers of merging kami and technology. Plus, I think that's now the third bend to the "no organic matter" rule, with the first two being Yanggu's dog and Kaya taking Rat.

The wrath of Ajani will be tremendous. I can't wait to see his red flare up in the conflict with the Phyrexians. I'm also interested to see the eldrazi in her sneak up on the Phyrexians.

Tamiyo was my favourite PW, honestly teared up when her compleation was described. Especially since we know what the process of 'being compleated' exactly means and what it involves... i really hope they find a way to help her like Karn. I would not have cared about anyone else being compleated, but her ... broke my heart

The Shadow over Innistrad story implies that Tamiyo was possessed by Emrakul when the Imprisonment to the Moon happened. There was a faint residue impression of a thought in Tamiyos head afterwards about "it not being the right time" (this being Emrakuls thought), making it seem like Emrakul actually removed herself. I forgot who, I think Ugin maybe, made a prophecy once that a dire fate would befall the Multiverse if the Eldrazi were ever destroyed. These plot points give me an idea that Emrakul could become a big deus ex machina (deus ex luna?) at the end of the coming phyrexia plotline, with her being unleashed as the final "rescue" against the machine nightmares. It might be combined with some kind of revelation that the Eldrazi actually fulfill a kind of (un-)natural reset button role to the multiverses planes. Ulamog devouring all that is (removing status quo), followed by Kozilek changing all that is (creating potential for new existence) followed by Emrakul catalyzing growth (propel evolution of all that is). Although the last point is very shaky, seeing as Emrakul seems to change everything exclusively into a twisted reflection of herself. I think it would be an interesting plot constellation, underlining the enigmatic eldritch nature of Eldrazi, not being easily categorized as good or evil. I'm still rooting for the Phyrexians to have a strong run though, I want loads of inspired messed up machine body horror cards, they are one of my alltime favourite fictional horror factions.

As someone said to me in a reddit comment: "If their objective was to make them hate phyrexians to an audience that didn't know them before, they did it perfectly." Seeing the wholesomest, calmest planeswalker turned into their puppet makes me want to punch Jin in the face.

Oh dear, RIP Tamiyo. May the Praetor’s experiment backfire in the future. But in all seriousness, this plot twist took me off guard!

I absolutely loved this story, it gave me the lore of the wanderer meanwhile being a very good short story, and bringing a super intense storyline with jin gataxis and tezzeret making the first phrexian planeswalker. I’m excited for whats to come!!

Lol as soon as I read the epilogue today and then saw Tamiyo's card I was like "I HAVE to hear Aether Hub's take on this" IMPLICATIONS!!! SO MANY IMPLICATIONS!!

Love that fact that MTG lore is back! Compleated Planeswalkers, Phyrexians, The Wanderer, Is Kaito going to join the gatewatch?, Can you purify a Compleated Planeswalker? So many questions haha I love it all!

This does not bare well for Tibalt. But I'm sure he's all for this since helping vorinclex on kaldheim. And just wait till we get Ashiok compleated.

I could totally see *war of tarkir* as a potential boiling point in the future with the khans and the dragons maybe teaming up to fight the phyrexians. Presumably, after more planeswalkers are compleated.

This has been one of my favorite lore videos so far in terms of editing. Love the phyrexian voice for Jin-Gitaxias. I for one welcome our new machine overlords.

What the freaking heck, whats goin on?! Tamiyo's compleation took me by surprise. It's really sad. Will she be able to turn back to normal? I can only hope. I dare to say that I've never felt the stakes so high, not even in war of the spark. Things just got real! Btw the voiceover of Jin-Gitaxias was very cool 👍🏼

Phyrexians are amazing. I'm converting a bunch of them for my D&D campaign.

Personally, I really hope Tamiyo can at least, mentally and emotionally, be returned to her former self. I feel the reality chip is key. Afterall, it seemed it was just as important as a planeswalker to their plans. So, maybe the chip can be used to return Tamiyo to normal, maybe not her physical state, but the rest of her at least.

As someone mentioned, it's tragic that it is TAMIYO who is the first, and this certainly does set up Phyrexia as a multiverse-wide threat. As much as this turn of events is terrifying, I hope they let it develop for a while rather than the bizarre and hasty way they ended the Eldrazi and Nicol Bolas.

This set truly hits home to reconnect Magic and its heroes and villains - LOVE the twist :)

It's much easier to remember the key points that way and it's cool to see how the story impact is portrayed in the cards mechanics too. Which we missed out on in this video, but it was still great!

When reading I always imagined Jin Gitaxias less angry, but more calm, cold and emotionless. Loved it nonetheless. :)

This story is incredibly compelling. I've been wanting a return to Kamigawa ever since the return to Ravnica was a thing. I'm highly anticipating the future storyline. We had Vorinclex on Kaldheim stealing sap from The World Tree which could be like the kami energy. Seems like we are headed for another War of the Spark style event in a few years.

So angry. I loved Tamiyo, and HATE Phyrexia. Makes me feel impotent since I have no control over where this story leads, but hope that some day there's a way to reverse this process and save her.

I mean, here's the thing. I feel like somehow it's all gonna tie back and Emrakul will inevitably be involved. Tamiyo was the one (although mind controlled by Emrakul) to trap the Titan in the moon. In some way I feel like that's gonna come back into play. Whether the Phyrexians want that to happen or not has yet to be seen.

I could see this story on the big screen. It's so good!

Finally we see what the Phyrexians have been building to. I hope this leads to a new major story arch with the Phyrexians taking center stage. Long live Phyrexia, all shall be completed.

it was only a matter of time til phiraxians would figure out how to make planeswalkers, especially since they lost Karn the first time. Honestly I think this is a good development as the steaks has been greatly risen. Nicol Bolas was a great threat to the multiverse, but so are the phiraxians. Before they were limited to one plane, then due to shinanigahns took over Mirroden, if i got that wrong my apologies I am fairly new to mtg lore. This definently rises the tension of the multiverse and will definently challenge the gatewatch and all other planeswalkers much like the war of the spark. But now planeswalkers will literally have no where to run anymore. They don't have the option to jump to a new plane and try to start a new life...if they keep jumping from plane after plane, a normal planeswalker would get exhausted....phiraxian planeswalkers however...they might not ever tire as they have become more machine than organic matter....Literally going full 'Terminator' at this point. I look forward to seeing what is to come.

I think that Phyrexian planeswalkers are exactly what the current mtg story needed. There's a lot of potential to explore here in the coming conflicts and I'm excited to see how the events unfold

I love when Magic takes a darker turn, this next set is going to be great story wise. Phyrexians coming back means nobody is safe.

This is worse than a death this is...well breaking a soul. Tamiyo didn't deserve such a cruel fate. I want every Praetor to burn for this.

Oh, I'm so torn on this! The fan in me is so crushed by this reveal. Tamiyo was one of my favorite Planeswalkers. Her magic associated with the power of storytelling is incredible and made for an interesting character. Her attempts to be completely neutral also raised a lot of ethical issues regarding the nature of Planeswalkers, which I think was needed for the lore. Also, she's one of the few Planeswalkers with a stable family life. It was hard to see the art for Tamiyo's Compleation without thinking about the pain both mentally and physically she is feeling in that moment. She had children for God's sake, why must you be so cruel? But the writer in me absolutely loves this twist. It's what the lore has been needing for a while. We needed something to make us feel, to raise the stakes, and to actually get us fans talking again about this story. It's been rough getting back into the story since War of the Spark, but this is finally starting to get interesting thanks to the Kamigawa story. I look forward to another era of good storytelling if this keeps up. I'm mad they killed my precious Planeswalker, but I can't wait to see what they do with this now.

I like how they took the wanderer, my favorite planeswalker because of how messed up her spark is and made her even better with her being an actual kamigawa emperor. And I love kamigawa.

Here's a jam that you may want to think about: if phyrexians blight the planes they're on, then that means we'll probably get phyrexian tainted planes we've already been to which hypes me up like crazy.

Tamiyo was my 2nd favorite walker :/ Wonder what the 3 forbidden scrolls are, and if they will actually be used against the Phyrexians instead... I always wondered about that scroll behind the Apocalypse Chime?

This sets up a second war of the spark in a couple of years, a new gatewatch including a monored raging ajani, elspeth in white, a healed garruk led by jace vs tezzeret and his phyrexian minions tibalt and tamiyo.

I like the way Tezzeret just fixes Jin Gitaxis. What a champ!

Ever since Eldritch Moon I've always wondered if in the future we might get Eldrazi Planeswalkers(I thought it might've been true when I saw Wrenn and Sixx but I didn't know who they were yet) but this seems just as interesting.

I'm going to see more phyrexian mana and synergies. They're clearly trying to fix it, and as long as it's still strong enough and can be used with, say, Phyrexian Rage Extractor, this is a good I have literally been waiting my entire Magic career for.

I do have the feeling that this set is, for Glistening Oil Saga, like Aether Revolt for the Spark Saga. I mean that we eventually see more stuff like that, and more compleated planeswalkers, and probably the climax shall come in around two years.

Thank you for scratching my itch with Kaito's pronunciation!! With the first Phyrexian Planeswalker running around now and hunting other Walkers to add to their army. Do you think they may call upon Nicol Bolas and Ugin once again to help fight against this new threat? On another note. How do you think the Phyrexians will fair against the Eldrazis? Both species are able to warp and recreate others into their liking.

So the reality chip is the cause of planeswalker being able to be compleated? It seem that it is able to interact with planewalker spark to stabilize it. Since Tamiyo has the chip in her when Jin start the conversion process. What will happen to the planewalker, if the chip is removed?

This set could have totally had a novel and probably revive interest in the novels.
