I figured out what you meant by comparing "ra" with the Google translate voice in Japanese vs English. I think a slightly better way to describe it would be "rah (English)" vs the flatter and abrupt sound with "ra (Japanese)." Honestly, I don't even think my description was good. It's best to just hear it, since it's pretty hard to describe with English.

Thanks for your kindness, and the criticism too! Solaria is a vocal synth which I have to tune/add phonemes/etc, I basically have to figure her out like an instrument! I had her sing 'ra' the way she does in her Japanese voice bank (rhyming with car), and from the raw files I think I achieved that 🤔 Do you mean the way the actual 'r' is pronounced? The Japanese voice bank definitely pronounced the 'r' with more of a r/l/d mixture than the pure American arrrr sound, but I chose not to replicate that. I'd love to figure this issue out! ☺️ If I sent you a version with her Japanese voicebank singing the kamura/sakura parts, could I trouble you to listen to it and tell me if her Japanese voicebank is actually pronouncing it wrong? That would mean I should stop using it as a tool to help with her English voicebank. I would be super grateful, but I know you're probably busy! Either way, thanks for listening 💙

She also unfortunately pronounces some English words incorrectly 😥 She's an American voicebank and I'm trying to force her to sound British (to little avail lol!) which is why her pronunciation of things like "chased" and "light" sound a little odd 😅
