I am very happy that I found this video! I am Azerbaijani and a musician myself, and I am very close to mugham - an ancient and living genre of our national music. Professor Polina Dessiatnitchenko is an amazing woman who has dedicated her life to studying and spreading mugham in the world. She very accurately and respectfully describes the essence and features of mugham, as well as skillfully plays on tar. I admire her talent and enthusiasm, as well as her desire to share her knowledge and experience with others. I am grateful to her for raising the prestige of our music and culture!

Невероятный музыкант! Это и учёный, и исследователь ,и педагог! Как эту милую девушку , родом из Украины,получившей образование на американском континенте,потянуло к нашей музыке. Как этот довольно сложный жанр мугам заинтересовал это прелестное создание. Наверное буду не одинока в своей мысли,что Полина в прошлой жизни была нашей азербайджанкой . I agree, Mugham has a very big potential and we are still to spread it to a wider world! Happy to hear such interesting speech from somebody who was not culturally linked to it by birth.
