Before You Play no haven’t played this one. I think I’d prefer the nice, as opposed to the naughty, side. Always look at things half-glass full. I’m just wondering,,,, is your top down camera in focus? It looks a tad out to me.
Mean Sandra, ;) The Double upgrade should score the part immediately, so you should have more 4 and 6 points. Well done guys. Great match. Thank you for this. I’m very happy to know this is one of your favorites.
Thanks so much both! We have been following your channel for awhile now, and finally got Kanban for our first Lacerda game! We should have followed the name of your channel and watched this before we played, as we did a couple of things wrong our first game. But thanks to this video, we figured it out :). Really love the game, and can't wait to try more of his!
Aww thanks for following along with us! It's so easy to make little mistakes in Kanban (or any Lacerda any Lacerda really). Sorry the video quality wasn't the best in this filming. :-(
Best Lacerda teaching video I’ve seen. Thanks. Need to watch the Gallerist video (my favorite), then On Mars and CO2 (the hardest for me). You did equally well on Lisboa, which really should open it up to new players.
Monique is an absolute beast when it comes to teaching games, it's the reason I sit with my arms folded and quite while she teaches hahahaha! - Naveen-
Loved this playthrough. The first time I saw the Kanban board, I was hooked. I also liked the art on the original Vinhos board (the current one is very nice too). That's what initially drew me in to Vital's games. The mechanics and gameplay sealed the deal. Keep up the great work. Loving your channel!
Thanks for the fantastic teach and playthrough. I have Kanban Driver's Edition arriving in the next few days and since I almost exclusively play board games 2 player with my wife your videos are a great help.
Playing Kanban EV for the first time today and this video was super helpful in getting a better understanding of the gameplay, thank you for doing this!
The first game I developed for Vital and my favorite of them all. Great job! Automobile by Martin Wallace is a game you should try. It was the game that headed me down the path of heavy games.
What a pity, that i dont have enough time (even in this crazy circumstances) to watch your videos. Ive never played any of Lacerda games and definitely this one would be the one which i want to try... Stay safe!!
I am progressively making my way through the VL collection (not in the order you posted them) and I have really enjoyed the playthrough and the way you both go through each action. Makes it very easily to follow along and understand these complex games. *SPOILERS* Great to see my boy Naveen do so well in this one. It looked like he was always just that one step ahead. Normally, it is Monique that has that strong foundation that helps her get ahead.
Monique beats me 80% of the time we play anything lol. She usually sees 5 moves ahead whereas I'm only seeing 2 moves ahead... Felt good to win this one haha - Naveen
Nice playthrough my wife loves this worker placement. We play with nice Sandra. My wife scores 13 points on her first move so the game is very competitive. Upgrading parts is a lot of points and meeting chairs are critical. This game takes a lot out of you. Took a whole week to learn I think one Vidal game is enough for me. I’ve only won once out of 6. I bought push , patchwork and truffle shuffle over the weekend. If you haven’t played truffle shuffle it’s surprisingly good and well worth the purchase. Keep up the good work enjoy this channel
I just double checked the rulebook on bgg for this older version, and it definitely looks like you're supposed to add parts for ALL symbols that match a warehouse on its side of the line. You do not choose one or the other side. I also skimmed through the rules looking for exceptions (2-player rules, say), but couldn't find any. Hopefully, I didn't miss anything. Well...if I didn't miss anything, you guys made a mistake in your beautiful video, but you get what I'm saying :)
Another excellent review of an outstanding game! A question: when fulfilling a kanban order in logistics, why do you only add car parts to one side of the department? As per the rules, you add all car parts to the matching color spaces on both sides of the imaginary line. I'm surprised Vital didn't catch this but I think this is clearly a rules mistake. Thanks for the playthrough and keep up the good work!
Another mistake is that at the end of the week scoring you don't check for tested designs, this is done at the end of the game scoring. Instead you look at each car in your garage and score 2 points for the upgrades on that car you have done and 1 point for the upgrades your opponents have done.
@@pirecrompir Hi! Thanks for watching! I'm not sure which version of the game you're playing with, maybe it's a difference in the versions? For logistics in our rulebook p. 10 - "You choose whether the left or the right gets the 4 symbols. For each symbol that matches a warehouse on its side of the line, you must add 1 Car Part to the appropriate warehouse from the general supply." For end-of-week scoring - p. 14 "For each car in your garage, score the upgrades to that Model - 2 pp for each upgrade you made (these are your Tested Designs for that Model)" - and also 1 pp for upgrades your opponents made. So for end-of-week scoring, I think we're both talking about the same thing. From what I remember, we scored that appropriately. At the end of the game is where you score the car part values for tested designs. I hope this helps somehow
Yes, regarding the end of week scoring we are talking about the same thing. About issuing a kanban order in logistics, we of course have the same rules, but you are interpreting them wrong. You decide which side of the department has 4 boxes of the kanban card on its side and which has 2. Then you add a part to the matching color warehouse on its side of the department, but on BOTH sides! So one side of the department gets filled from 4 boxes of the kanban card and one from 2, if there are matching colors, of course. This is clearly shown on the accompanying picture in the rulebook and is interpreted as such in all rules videos on YT. So, you actually had a more difficult task to perform in your playthrough because there were less parts available than there should have been 😊. Thanks for the reply and keep coming those fantastic Lacerdas 😊
ooooh! I actually misinterpreted your original comment as well. Yes, you're right! I thought you were referring to the parts in the square, but you were talking about the 2 parts that are on the other side of the line that we've been neglecting. Looks like we've been playing that rule incorrectly for 4-5 years LOL. We actually try to reread the rules before doing a runthrough prior to filming the playthrough but it's difficult it seems to get every rule right. Yeah looks like we've been making our logistics department unknowingly barren so thank you so much for that!
@@BeforeYouPlay i thought i knew the rule, then saw you guys doing it 'your' way and went to read the book in case i was the one playing it incorrectly. kaboom! OC lacerda fan here, BTW.
I just bought a used copy, but I'm not sure when we could actually get around to playing it. But I have to play at least one game from this designer as a bucketlist item.
Do you plan on doing a playthrough with the EV version of the game? I have no doubt this version is a great game. However, this board is so busy it doesn’t translate well on camera.
