I hope you can visit Udupi, the birth place of idli, vada, and dosa. We make idli's in jackfruit leaves and other local leaves. They are called, "kotte" and "mudde". They weigh one - 3 kgs. The restaurant idli's that are round in shape are recent phenomena with the use of pressure cooker and idli pans.

Hi priyanka tbus kanchipuram idly is famous in tamil nadu and few places in bengaluru, i have tried in blr but never visited kanchipuram though i visited other parts of tamil nadu .it tastes really good, very healthy and good breakfast.
