Tears coming in my eyes Proud to see that Indians from South following their Sanatan culture proudly 😊 And we north Indians following Bollywood blindly☹️
@Vicky Cruize absolutely correct but, I felt bad when you said your Bollywood, Bollywood means Hindi films which in turn means Indian film Industry....so it cannot be regarded as cinema only for Hindi speaking audience.... keep your point about the dirtywood, it is getting shameless day by day..
Literally y’all can rant whatever pops in your mind about North? And how come those baseless stats and observations. I could have put loads of instances and events from south too or bashing over culture but I’m not a decider nor a critique. I visit any video/post depicting south elements and imbeciles like in this commen bombard comment section contrasting differences to degrade community as if themselves superior in values
We need to preserve these idlymakers in Kanchipuram, They are pioneers for our next generation not only for this idly but for our culture and heritage.Planning to go Kanchipuram to see Varatharaja perumal....
No plastics , less oil, eco-friendly, steamed food not over cooked or fired .. Using hand for mixing...waw See the level of cleanliness maintained Loves banana leaves , curry leaves 🍃 Perfect for healthy body and mind
We have lost many of our cultural and traditional foods. From the preparation, you will observe that it is one of our best traditional foods and hardly you will find one or two people making it. Let us give our full support to the master chef as he is preserved this fantastic idlis. He should teach his generation or from the traditional Vaishnava person and continue the legacy. Such utensils are very hard to find.all the best to the master as he is the real guru and master.
Those who commented his mixing with bare hands actually did so due to ignorance. There is scientific reason behind it. Handling with bare hands (of course, clean but not aseptic) aids in inoculating batter with beneficial flora which not only ferments batter (so much better than 'oriental' vinegar) but also acts as probiotic flora (which otherwise you pay a lot for in Costco/Sam's). Don't forget steam cooking (steam-sterilization for the picky) that follows. If you observe the way he is beating the batter while mixing with bare hands, it's done to add air into the batter (fluffing) for raising it better as it gets steam-cooked into soft and healthy 'idli'. I'm so amazed with my forefathers who designed this recipe keeping in mind so much of Biology and Chemistry that does into holistic well-being
Oh God, i just remembered my physics and chemistry hardcore classes from my Intermediate. Just got shocked whether do i am going to write exams again..🤔🤔🙄🙄
You are absolutely right. My mum used to do it as well. As young children we used to ask her why she did she put her hand after the batter is ready, she used to answer, "because you kids love fluffy soft idlis". Amazing.
In some systems washing hands is enough but in some systems bathing is important. So it is their belief. Let them follow their belief. It is not a crime to cook food after taking bath that too under HYGIENIC CONDITION.
Kiran mayee.. Absolutely right.. It is so nice to see a person cook with full clean body rather than watching a person wash only hands & with sweaty body😓
The Kanchipuram Idli or the Kovil Idli is the traditional prasadam offered in the Varadharaja Perumal Temple at Kancheepuram. The idlis are cooked in bamboo casings lined with dried “mandharai” leaves. The mandharai leaves add to the flavour of the idlis. The batter for the idlis is mixed with spices and steamed.
@@narasimhaprasadyadati9497 one slide of this idly with a width of 2cm is ₹25 in hotels of kanchipuram.even we can tell order to buy a full idly cost of ₹150-₹180 in famous hotels of kamchipuram.
wooww.. Brilliant way of cooking, Banana leaves and non-aluminum and non-steel utensils.. This is definitely a very healthy food... I wish I could have these idlis in North India
When we say S.Indian food, its by and large predominantly recopies from Tamil Nadu. I love all those exotic varieties of stuff available only in TN. Although idly, dosas, uttappam, pongal, aviyal, etc are made in most part of the world these days, the one made in TN stands next to none. Even the etymology of these recipes are purely Tamil words, that adds additional punch to the food. I live in Hyderabad and I like Tamil food. Kudos.
Sir. you are doing very patiently this work and super oldest idea in cooking idli excellence'.we.love. This.video.and.work.l.come. and.test. your. idli.kanjipuram.thank. you.sir
Kanchipuram Idli is the best Idli I have ever tasted. It is damn healthy and tasty :-) Amazing mama. Kovil palagaram na eppavume athu oru thani taste.. :-)
this is not street food but this is holy food... that enriches body, mind and soul .... which must be the actual purpose of food... but today we eat only like animal kingdom... so is the result....
bro if u dont like non veg dont eat.but u dont have right to look down upon non vegetarian s. if everyone in the world become vegetarian there is not enough resource in the world to feed everyone.and also lot of vegetarians suffer from vitamin b12 and folate defeciency which leads to megaloblastic dimorphic anemia which leads to bone marrow suppression and neurological defecits.this is recorded in most of the vegans.so humans are meant to eat meat
Hey u brainless uneducated fellow be eating idli once a day u will become like idle.... What u said in comment that we eat like animal kingdom. U brainless what is the relationship between eating and animal kingdom, first of all u don't no what is animal kingdom..... don't worry I will say u.Animal kingdom means where all animal which cannot prepare their own food which depends for food by interacting with ecology....but what u said have no relationship.First during evolution of man they used eat only flesh that too uncooked.sooo Ur idli which contains rice(rich in carbohydrates, low vitamin A which later causes u night blindness etc.when cooked at nutrient's vanish in air.idli just fills Ur stomach like cotton filling in the doll.Next time don't talk meaningless things Because of u people only races started. You no that even britian Queen also eat only non veg in which she is 94 know but she is like 40 years old. Non vegetarian live up to 100 But u useless people can't even cross 60.and that too some bad smells come with u people.....I should ask my self sorry to waste my time on u.....
Can we pls stop saying “North India” “south India”?! Like they are different countries. It’s either Northern India or Southern India. But even that doesn’t make any sense coz Northern India is a bunch of languages and cultures and food and so is Southern India. We cannot just generalize. I understand if some guy outside India says this. But being Indians, you guys should know better. This is Kerala. Some parts of Karnataka might also have similar dish but this is not Andhra or Tamil or Goan food. So cannot be just Southern India. Kerala Idli or even puttu may be
True words I'm a guy who belongs to South(for your kind consideration if u pll look discrimination things) and I currently live in North (repeat here) and Im not seeing anything different like ugly or neet...
Bath is very important because if we prepare food with clean hands and love and devotion it nurtures our soul, that's why the food prepared by mother is so tasty, because she pours emotions in the food.
Ask battachariyars to make it , 800 rs for good one idly , idly will be go for naivedyam and they gave prasadham to us if only we want and pay money , this is not regular prasadham in temple it's special one ... If u want good idly ask temple battachariyars , one family making for Perumal traditionaly ...
you can find it near by hotels. Mostly in the morning. Otherwise there are lot of small shops selling it . If you want a single big piece it costs around 400.
I have been searching for the place where I can find this idly in kanchipuram during all my visits but couldn't get it. This time I was able to find.If you come out of Sri Kamakshi Ambal devasthanam from the main entrance to the left you can find Sri Annapurna Bhavan ,a pure veg bramhin hotel where you can find this idly called as podi idly. They serve this idly in slices @ 25/-per slice as a person cannot eat this idly as a whole. Two chutneys will be served along with.
my grandmother always mixed the batter or smashed potatoes with bare hand but never before taking a bath and i remember that nobody in our home ever got sick due to unhygiene ....the love with which she made the food for us was the reason for it's delicious taste ....i realy miss her....
@@arbjful isn't breakfast a must after the 16 hour intermittent fast from the previous night? Intermittent fast never says no to breakfast and 2 idlis with some papaya (because you are not going to consume the entire batter made in to idlis) along with nuts is infact a best fast breaker! You generalized saying idli is only starch. And we oats is not economical especially and you have to go for rollet oats. The normal oats is nothing but 'thavudu' and 'punnaku'.
Amazing, just love it... I'm sure they are very very tasty, is it only served as Prasadam or anyone can taste it. I'm really curious to taste it as I love all South Indian food... Fortunate to be a South Indian.
Wonderful presentation. Thanks mama for sharing the recipe. God bless you. For those who feel it’s unhygienic, make a study on how people eat old food in the western countries thinking it’s organic and healthy. (Old means refrigerated food or pre cooked food like pasta cereals etc for convenience)
High Traditional way and Authentic Idly, Please let me know where I can get this authentic food at Kanchipuram, We are coming this weekend to Kanchipuram. Thank you
