Kangaroo paws are hard to grow unless you have sandy soils. Every year new varieties get released that are destined to die unless they are grown in big pots using Native Potting Mix.
I’m in vic and I definitely concur they are proving to be hard to grow.I purchased atleast 5 so far on diff occasions and all died.I’m not giving up though,I just purchased a big clump for $10 off a lady home grown.Going to re plant it tomorrow.Fingers crossed
No Tim....you’re the only one that says kangaroo paws are hard to grow ...in fact everyone else in the planet says it’s one of the easiest drought resistant perennial plant native to Australia that grows like weeds.... go in the internet and have a read round....thank you Tim... These grow like weeds! Perhaps they overwatered the ones they wanted to grow and they died. Kangaroo fires don’t respond well to overwatering. They are related to Yucca plants..
How are your Kangaroo paws doing, if you don't mind sharing your experience? I was thinking about planting some in my backyard. But this video just made me second guess my decision
