Hello, I'm Lance (aka Bundy Bear), and doing these videos is my hobby. I do own Queensland Tractor Spares in Australia where I sell parts and offer technical advice to customers.
Parts seen in our videos can be purchased from www.queenslandt...
We have a lot more than we can offer on our web site available to us and in our store. If you don't see what you would like please email info@queenslandtractorspares.com.au or call 1300 850 097 and we will help where we can.
I do try and help with technical advice at bundybearsshed@gmail.com if you have a question or are having trouble with your project.

Hi. I just finished the restoration of my 1967 DB Selectamatic 880. Took me 10 years in fact. It wasn't the way I was expecting it at all. Those tractors need good care from old mechanics witch are very hard to find. I did a few things myself on it but not enough to save on fixings. It's now done, look exactly like when it got out of Meltham mills back in the 60's. When you start a project like that (full restoration) you know when it starts but certainly not when it will be ending. Many thousand dollars later, I'm proud it's finally done. I must love that tractor because I treat it better than my own car. Priceless...

I understand that for sure, i see people restore tractors in a few months but with work etc if I get one per year done Im pleased, it is often 18 months.

Really good find. Oh man, I winced when you showed where the valve cover plate would go and it hasn't been there for awhile. I can just imagine the rust inside. Looking forward to your video on diagnosing Selectamatic hydraulics! Will definitely come in useful.

Yes there might well be a few surprises with this old tractor it runs great and drives really quietly in all gears so Im living in hope.

Great find, I saw the post on Facebook.Those PVT rims were popular in the states. I'm in the process of doing up a 1966 880A 6 speed, brought a few things off you a year or ago. My old girl had a very easy life I brought it with only 1780 hours on it. Great to see a DB on the channel finally

Im finding parts are no where as easy to find as the MF products but I may be able to fix that along the way with this one.

This will be a fun project. We did a 880 and 990 and both gave us hours of work. I'm not a fan of the DB hydraulics and spent hours setting them up. I'm looking forward to see the videos

When I was young there were several David Browns showed up on farms around in the 70's, but didn't seem to be anymore ever come in, I don't know why, they seemed to be pretty good tractors. I wonder if they didn't do much marketing here in the states?
@path.of.discovery
@path.of.discovery Год назад
From what I understand there were pockets of them around here in the US. There were quite a few in south Alabama where I'm from. There were two on our 'farm' and the oldest is the one I'm fixing up and videoing. Tenneco/Case bought the David Brown Tractor company in the 70's I think, and a bunch of those Case tractors from the late 70's & '80s had David Brown stuff in them.
@BundyBearsShed
@BundyBearsShed Год назад
Pockets here in Australia as well but I put that down to how good a dealer was in a particular area. We had big pockets of IHC and JD machines but when I was working for DB we had a lot in our area.

Nice Lance, looks like a good basis to start from and hopefully the parts tractor provides most of the bits needed. I had an inclination your purchase might’ve been a David Brown (or Davie Broon as they were known here 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿) as I seem to remember you mentioned them in a recent stew.
@BundyBearsShed

Yes I think I had mentioned it and then this poped up so I jumped on it. Having problems is how I like to buy them.

Lance - A good find - very interested to understand the unique David Brown hydraulic system. I believe you need a couple special tools to adjust the hydraulic system - can you still buy them? My uncle owned David Brown's - loved them

I still have the tools from way back in the eighties when I worked for David Brown.

Lance - your comment on Service Managers who hoard Service Bulletins - they are selfish and deny the folks on the tools access to valuable product knowledge - they are a disadvantage to their business. If you look at companies like Cummins, New Holland and Ford Automotive who run correspondence Service Training, they do their products and field maintainers a great service to improve their product knowledge and employee morale. Using computer systems - correspondence parts, service & sales training would be very cost effective and identify employees who are motivated.
