The shot of Great Mazinger in the flames with Tetsuya gets me everytime. I dunno why but that picture for me is a great visual metaphor for Shin Mazinger's awesomeness.
It's kinda sad that we will never see Shin Great Mazinger, it would have been really different from the normal Great Mazinger considering the fact that Tetsuya is Kouji's uncle here
Looks like its gonna fall to Banpresto's shoulders again to make corrections since Shin Mazinger ZERO is gonna be in SRW V. That means a possibility of Shin Great.
If we see a new Dynamic Special, I think it'll more than likely be when we have Shin Mazinger, Mazinkaiser SKL, New Getter and Grendizer Giga in the same game together. Still though, seeing one between Zero, Emperor G and Shin Getter would be pretty sweet aswell!
The Shin Mazinger ZERO manga has a sequel: Shin Mazinger ZERO vs Ankouku Daishogun and guess what? Great Mazinger and its cast appear there along with the Grendizer cast(but without the mech itself...) Can you believe it!?
+foldabotZ Other Super Robots also show up in Shin Mazinger ZERO in silhouette form, right? Some of which are Getter, Gurren Lagann, GunBuster, Eva-01, GaoGaiGar and Ideon, right?
Supersaiyan4mario Er, no. With the possible exception of Getter Robo, these other Super Robots are owned by different studios(Gainax and Sunrise), not Dynamic Planning or Toei. But if they agree on a collaboration, then I'm up for it.
well... he didn't necessarily lose. remember, the 1st episode is actually the events of the final battle or something along those lines. there was supposed to be a second season that would lead up to that i believe. unfortunately it didn't happen... or at least hasn't happened yet...
Godammit do I want Shin Great Mazinger. The ending to Shin Z was screwed, especially when you realize that the beginning of episode 2 is the aftermath of the final episode. Also I've read Shin Mazinger Zero. It's messed up (Kouji's grandpa raping and killing Sayaka who's his own partners daughter0.0)
Unfortunately not. That would be Shin Mazinger Zero vs Ankouku Daishogun, a sequel to the unrelated Shin Mazinger Zero manga started at the same time as the anime. the manga serves more as a continuation (and a really depressing one at that) of the original series. the sort of thing i was hoping for was the continuation of the format with a remake/reimagine of the Great Mazinger series in the same style as the Shin Anime was. Thanks for telling me about that tho, i hadn't heard about that sequel
Try reading Shin Mazinger ZERO, this story is much darker and tells a separate storyline considering what might happen should the Mazinger Z go berserk. Reminder: if you reading Shin Mazinger ZERO, of course, but it will contains explicit (meaning NSFW). mangafox.me/manga/shin_mazinger_zero/
Sorry :( I was sticking with the unspoken rule of Grendizer and Kaiser appearance. That and it was much easier to find art for Z, Great and Kaiser than with Grendizer :3
i still don't understand, he asked a sequel of shin mazinger z so he wanted shin great mazinger, right? What does shin mazinger zero have to do with this?
In Shin Great Mazinger: - Tetsuya would be a Top Gun Marine fighter pilot and also a master of infantry combat (as expected of being a member of the toughest fighting unit in the galaxy, the Republic Federation of Mars Marine Corps); he later obtains the Great Mazinger as bestowed upon him by President-Commandant Gennosuke Yumi - Jun would also be a Marine and one of Tetsuya's wingmen. Her personality would be reminiscent of Kelly McGillis a.k.a. the blonde chick from "Top Gun," Kara "Starbuck" Thrace from "Battlestar Galactica," and Misa Hayase from "Macross" - Tetsuya and Jun's relationship would be mirror that of Lee and Kara from BSG as well as Tom Cruise and Kelly McGillis from TG - Koji Kabuto is a young lieutenant in the Mars Republic Army Special Forces (a.k.a. the Tan Berets, a commando unit similar to the British SAS and the US Army "Green Berets") - Sayaka is labeled as "The President-Commandant's Daughter" (a reference to a US Army law drama movie called "The General's Daughter") - Boss, Nuke, and Mucha would be much aligned with Bulk and Skull from "Power Rangers" - The "Shin Great Mazinger" series as well as the alternate "Mazin Saga" series would parody many pop culture titles such as "Top Gun," "Charlie's Angels," "The Great Escape," "The A-Team," "Battlestar Galactica," "Starship Troopers," and "Power Rangers" to name a few At least, these are what I would think of future alternative Mazinger tales
