My hometown❣ I was so shocked when I saw "Wichita, Kansas" in the title of the video lol. Everyone thinks Kansas is so boring but Wichita is full of so much life and activity! YAY Wichita!!! I moved here in 1987 when I graduated from UMass, because my parents had moved here while I was in college so my mom could teach at the university - nice try mom and dad, I found you!! I think for at least 10 years I complained about no mountains and no ocean. Then I grew up and realized this is the best spot on earth. We have all the fun stuff big cities have and none of the bad stuff like traffic (I get crabby when I have to sit through 2 red lights during "rush hour") and a high cost of living. I wouldn't live anywhere else but here. Of course my son moved to Dallas the second he graduated from college, but clearly I'm a good detective. I found my parents, I can find him too!!! Thank you for being SO wonderful about our city!

I live in Wichita! Theres so so much more that they didnt get to see! Exploration Place, Sedgwick County Zoo, Ulrich Museum of Art at Wichita State University, Botanica, Museum of World Treasures, and so so many awesome local places to eat I cant even list!

I have lived in Wichita my whole life, so this was insane to watch. I recognized almost everywhere they went. Wichita is just such a great city, and very interesting to see from an outside perspective.
Thanks for visiting my city! With the world crashing down all around us I just feel thankful that my town has kept pretty normal so far. I think people here for the most part love America and want to preserve its roots. You can feel it by just visiting here. I have a friend that moved to Smyrna TN and she said the locals don't like people from Kansas and treat her kind of bad because of it. Well, you guys are welcome here in Kansas anytime. I like seeing people take interest into the town I was born in and plan to stay till I die. There are always people that think the grass is greener on the other side, but I beg the differ. lol Good luck on your journey and be safe!

If you want to make something out of what I said and turn it into something hurtful then maybe America isn't a good home. I like to believe IT'S the best home! (I mean, we are pretty damn awesome!) Im watching videos about kansas because I just came back from there and I Loved it. It was the prettiest place Ive ever been and cant wait to go back in the summer. Cant wait to see the sunflowers and wildflowers along with the thriving crops. Went to Dodge City on the trip and I loved that. Somethings were closed off season.
It’s so weird living in Wichita and coming across a video about my town! Some places I’ve never been to but hear about! But I love keeper of the plains. So relaxing for a nice walk!

You would be absolutely correct if we're talkin Western Kansas. 😂 I live in a small quiet town with a population of 2,000. Wichita, lawerence , Manhattan, and kansas City Kansas have lots of fun to have there. Now Nebraska & Iowa are vlogs I want to see if there's any fun there lol

And I’ve heard the zoo in Omaha, NE is better than the one in Kansas City, MO, but you’re right, other than those two things, I’m out of ideas for Nebraska or Iowa!! 😂

Born and raised in Wichita , love this city , yes it has crime and homelessness but every major city does but on the other hand most people are pretty friendly and welcoming , Im proud to call Wichita my home , places to visit the Zoo, Exploration place, and tons of great places to eat

I live close to Wichita. In a smaller town, and we go to Wichita for date nights lol. Haven't been to some of the places you went to, thinking I should take the kids to the art museum! I saw a comment on here saying they didn't personally agree with you traveling the U.S during covid, and I wanted to say the complete opposite. I exponentially appreciate it honestly. There is no "during covid" or an end to this. It's pre covid and post covid. It's not going anywhere, might as well stop being so scared to actually live life again. I love that others are committed to bringing back a normalcy to our new normal ❤
Oh and I subscribed. I can't wait for summer break and to take my family on a vacation somewhere we have never been! I think your series is going to be a perfect reference for places to go, close enough to home that we don't gotta get crazy witb travel expenses and long trips with the babies, but out of our normal views views daily lives and I CANNOT WAIT!

Thanks for highlighting Wichita, not too many people are willing to scope out the city. I do find one point lacking. Wichita is the home of a major business, famous in the Bar-B-Que industry, All Things Bar-B-Que in the Delano district. A place that is needed to be seen.
I lived in Wichita for 2 years and he’s right about the BBQ. The best. I have it shipped from Jack Stacks in Kansas City. In Wichita itself ,I would Recommend going to Bite Me BBQ on N Saint Francis. That was my go to after work! You have to have the burnt ends!!! Delish. 😊👍🏻🥰

My goal is to get to all 50 states. I needed Texas and Kansas to complete the contiguous 48. To be honest, we were having a little trouble coming up with an itinerary for Kansas. Based solely on your experience, we went to Wichita and stayed in the same hotel you guys stayed. Perfect location! We really enjoyed our time there. Your video was very informative and helpful to us. Thank you! PS…we’re in WV. So glad you enjoyed your visit. Next time, come in October and go to Bridge Day in Fayetteville on the new river gorge.

I went to Cowtown all the time growing up in Wichita and when I would go I would try my hardest to always go dressed up as a cowboy. This video made me want to go re-visit it when I go back home on break from school.
We are actually from wichita, we did #vanlife before the pandemic in our 1996 Ford honorbuilt Eldorado class b campervan built in our home state of Kansas, our goal before the pandemic was to travel the rest of the lower 48 and take the fairy to Alaska from Washington ..Next goal is to drive our van from wichita to Panama 🇵🇦 and ship it to Cartagena Colombia.

You should check out old cowtown when they have "age of the Gunfighter" Gunfighters an guest travel from all parts of the world to watch many different gunfighters preform there own skits. It's really is something you can be there all weekend an not see the same show twice.
