WATCHING THE DOCUMENTARY AND SEEING HIM PITCH THIS TO ROCKEFELLAR RECORDS AND EVERYONE IGNORE HIM LITERALLY GAVE ME CHILLS. THIS MAN REALLY MANIFESTED HIS DREAMS. UNREAL.
The whole pitch at rockerfeller was fake. They shot that over and over and over until the staff was bored and they used the footage from the worst reaction
Being creative and not being scared on taking risks making hit records that also have that classic feel to them and on top of that..having a real message is what makes kanye west a genius. Not many artist in music history have 10 classic albums 7 of his own and 3 as a producer for the rappers albums below.. Jay z - the blueprint Common - Be Pusha T - Daytona kanye has 84 platinum songs out of 184 songs 75 Grammy nominations.. the 4th most ever kanye won 24 Grammy's in total. Classics 🎖 Mainstream success 🎖 Critically acclaimed 🎖 All huge achievements it's super rare and kanye has influenced pretty much everyone we listen to. You can hate the man but you can't deny his one of a kind legendary career.
Let me paint the scene: it’s 2004, you’re a junior in high school, just copped your first ride- it’s a 97 impala, spent a whole paycheck to tint it out, now flying down I-75 with the windows cracked, a snap back backwards and a jersey on your back, you trying to post up downtown where the rest of the guys and chicks hang out on the weekends so you can open your trunks, smoke some blunts and battle rap… times were different bro. We never gonna get those days back. 💯
This was a great kanye era. The delivery was new, refreshing even. He said what we thought about that social concept about being addicted to material gians
Syleena Johnson's voice makes me so happy and emotional at the same time. There's something to it that just jabs at my heart. So unique. It reminds me of Lauryn Hill's.
It doesn’t matter how successful he became his story is still tragic; His mom, the only person that truly believed in him since day one is the only person that never got to witness his greatness, she only saw the start.
@@ari96a and maybe she knew already he was gonna be bigger than that now that I think about it, she was the person that believed in him the most after all
Iconic to watch after school on 106 & Park back in the 2000s!! His lyrics hit so damn good when you’re grown now and doing things you never thought you’d push yourself to do to get through life the way you deserve. Cheers to everyone who heard this as a kid and still listening to as a full ass adult lol
No offence alot of ppl have lost their mothers, and they are still amazing people, it's definitely the fame, dude says out of pocket things to stay relevant @@andreaword706
The death of his mother and then how everyone who said they had his back and was down for him turned their backs on him.... He snapped. I can't help but wonder what Diddy did to him...
Rae Sremmurd All of those albums are better except for SSLP. Eminem's trash. The College Dropout is in my top 40 albums while the others are ranked higher and SSLP wouldn't make my top 100
@@Funkgafr Bro is going to call this song a classic but bro has to look at when the video came out to know what year it came out, and it aint even that year
"Syleena you're just like a safe belt, you saved my life" hits different for me as a grown man in 2023 learning how she got on the song and really appreciating the soulfulness of her voice.❤💯
Also while he was making this album he got in a car crash the safety belt saved his life just he had to get a metal plate in his jaw you se it when he went through the X-ray
@@johnnyclark1008 he also says she saved his life because he asked her last second to cover a lauryn hill song to create the vocals for the song because he couldnt clear the sample
My name is Malik Charles...just tryna get some support for my music..i write songs about love, pain, and life..check it out.. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JXZgl62f0dA.html
I vaguely remember the day I went back to my parents after i was done visiting my father. It was in California by the airport. My mom was cool and quiet, but still asked me a couple questions. The car I left, and the car I went into were both warm.
I'll never forget the first time I watched this video. I was 13 years old summer after 7th grade in 2007 and I had only been listening hip hop for about a year and a half and I didn't really know who Kanye was. They played All Falls Down followed by the premiere of Can't Tell Me Nothing on 106 and Park music video countdown on BET. I had never seen or heard an artist like Kanye in my life. So much passion and soul in the way he rapped and told his story, he became my favorite artist instantly and 16 years later of listening to him I still feel just as strongly about his music.
This song has to be one of the greatest songs EVER meaning wise! The lyrics alone are powerful! And Sylenna just added the icing on the cake! Always loved her!! 80's baby right her! Edit: Wow thanks for all the likes! ☺️😁
Kanye never changed up😭😭 His commentary on classism (which this song is based on) lives through his fashion now. They tried to change him but he's fighting. Even the "slavery is a choice" comment made everyone change on him, but he wasn't lying because he was putting the ball in our court.
@@sthapebarksdale7771 nah Kanye ain't the same man back in this day he would've given the shirt off his back for his people now he charges them for shirts I get he's way more of a business man now then he was at this time but still man he's not the same and it's not even the Trump stuff because every one is entitled to their own beliefs it's just how left field he went you can't listen to College Dropout then listen to anything he's put out since MBDTF it's not the same he's preaching slavery but charging kids in the hood 500 bucks for a pair of shoes it's crazy
Different shots were shot to create the Illusion of him whenever you see his reflection … he or someone else also had to mimic what was happening in the reflection shots to make it seem as if he was actually looking in a mirror …. it was done great here … The bathroom shit if you look closely you can tell it was two different shots because his has and body moment are like a fees seconds delayed from each other
Sometimes... immaturity can never surpass life or love. Indifferences can never be settled with egos that are so big that one cannot back down from. Thank you Kanye for your life shared. ✌️ Peace.
The fact that he did a whole video dedicated to pre 9/11 where we could actually walk and chill with our loved ones at their gate until their flight took off will never go unnoticed with me. This man def knew how to get mfs in their feels
Kanye was so ahead of his time that his old hits are still so in and timeless. It’s good to see people discovering his history in music throughout his documentary. Kanye is a Genius and he truly has a talent In creating good music.
I feel in love with Kanye with this song.. I remember watching this music video every morning while getting ready for school … back in the day when MTV played music videos 🙄
I think they put green on the other side of the car window and masked a different shot into it so it looks like its a reflection when really it's a different scene and clip and thats why they can pan it around
Missing 1998-2009. Everyone seemed like they were soo happy man. It was a decade of ps2 games, going to block buster on a friday night and renting your favorite movie/ video game, partys were fun everyone didnt just fight or twerk the whole time, 106 and park, tv stations showed good shows, smoking weed didnt make you look cool, family reunions with good music, baggy clothes, everyone just got along. 2010s was a terrible decade and it has me wishing I could go back to 1998 and do it all over again.
His story was so inspiring, he REALLY believed in his self, and would not take no for a answer, said he would think of what he was going to say when he win a Grammy he manifest that shit, and his beautiful mother was sooo supportive, she was his biggest fan, she even knew the words to his songs, before he got big...was always smiling and nice to his friends, Lord bless her, seeing this made me want to cry ,May Ms. West rest easy Lord 🙏
Not necessarily- It's All about the individual. I have seen the poorest of the poor being ass- holes. So again- It's what's on the inside of a person( the Heart and Soul). Being Rich or Poor doesn't determine the character of a person. What's Truly on the inside will eventually come out.
